About Us

Dotdigital is an all-in-one customer experience and data platform (CXDP) used by marketing teams around the world. Brands use Dotdigital to unify and segment their customer data, then automate personalised journeys across email, SMS, WhatsApp, web, push, social, ads and more, with AI built in.

We're a global team that values innovation, teamwork and putting clients first. We're now growing our team in APAC, and this role is a big part of that.

About the Role

You'll be the first Business Development Representative in our APAC team, based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a chance to build something: you'll shape how we prospect in ANZ, and set the standard for the BDRs who join after you.

What you'll do:

• Your focus will be generating net new outbound leads across a wide range of businesses.

• You will be required to qualify inbound leads.

• Qualify opportunities (budget, authority, need and timeframe) and pass Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) to our Account Executives.

• Have conversations with marketers about their email, SMS and multichannel marketing.

You'll have a monthly SQL target, with commission paid on SQLs accepted by Sales. You'll report to the Head of Sales APAC and work closely with our team of Account Executives and local Marketing.

About You

• You're an established BDR. You have at least 2 years' experience as a BDR or SDR, with a track record of hitting or beating quota, ideally in SaaS or marketing technology.

• You know your numbers. You can tell us your attainment, your conversion rates and the daily activity it takes to hit target, and you manage yourself to them.

• You want to be first. Building and executing a function excites you more than joining one that already exists. You're comfortable working with autonomy while the team grows around you.

• You bring energy and drive. This is a high-activity role. You stay consistent, and you are relentless.

• You're a confident communicator. You're polished on the phone, on video and in writing, and comfortable opening conversations with senior marketers and senior stakeholders within a business.

• You stay organised. You juggle priorities, manage your own time and keep a clean pipeline in your CRM.

• You're coachable and share what works. You welcome feedback on your calls and emails, and you're keen to help shape the team that follows you.

A Bonus to have

• Experience with HubSpot, Chorus, ZoomInfo and other relevant sales tools

• Experience selling email, ecommerce or marketing technology

• Experience prospecting into ANZ market

Some of our benefits:

• Commission and bonus opportunities

• Annual leave that increases with service, plus the option to buy more

• Additional paid wellbeing days and an annual wellbeing reward

• Christmas office shutdown (extra time off)

• Enhanced parental leave and family support policies

• Employee recognition and reward schemes

• Referral bonuses and long-service rewards

Interview Process

1. 15-minute screening call with our Talent team

2. Interview with the Head of Sales APAC, including a role-play. Bring your numbers: your quota attainment over the last 12 months, your activity metrics and your conversion rates.

3. Interview with a senior member of team

4. Final panel interview

Authenticity in Our Hiring Process

AI is part of how modern sales teams work, and you’re welcome to use it in your application, as long as it supports you rather than doing the work for you. Use it to research Dotdigital, prepare for interviews or sharpen your writing, but make sure the experience, examples and numbers you share are your own. In interviews and role-plays we want to hear from you directly, so please don’t use live AI assistance in those conversations.

Equal Opportunity

Dotdigital is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from everyone and make hiring decisions without regard to race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, intersex status, age, disability, marital status, family or carer's responsibilities, pregnancy, breastfeeding, religion, political opinion, national extraction or social origin. If you need any adjustments during the application or interview process, please let us know and we'll support you.

Work Rights

You must have the right to work in Australia to apply for this role.

Agencies

We're only accepting applications directly from candidates. Please don't contact our staff about this role on behalf of candidates. Unsolicited approaches will be handled in line with applicable privacy law.
