Job Description

Business Development Representative

About TrueCollab HR

TrueCollab HR is a US-based human resources consulting and fractional HR firm that helps small and mid-sized businesses build stronger people practices. We partner with business owners and operational leaders to address practical HR challenges across hiring, employee engagement and culture, compliance, employee relations, and HR strategy.

Our clients are primarily based in the United States, and we are expanding our outreach efforts to connect with more businesses that could benefit from fractional HR support.

About the Role

We are looking for a driven, articulate, and results-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) to help expand our client base.

As a BDR, you will be one of the first points of contact for prospective clients. You will follow up on email campaigns, conduct outbound phone calls, engage with prospects, qualify leads, and schedule discovery calls with qualified prospects for the Founder.

This is a highly outbound, phone-focused role. You will work closely with the Founder to execute a consistent outreach strategy using HubSpot CRM. Success in this role requires confidence speaking with US-based business owners and operations leaders, the ability to clearly communicate the value of TrueCollab HR's services, and strong discipline in follow-up and activity tracking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to prospects who have received email outreach through HubSpot, with the goal of initiating or continuing conversations.
  • Conduct outbound email outreach through structured sequences and personalize messaging when appropriate.
  • Engage prospects professionally and build rapport with business owners and operational leaders.
  • Qualify leads based on company size, HR needs, potential fit, and access to decision-makers.
  • Identify prospects who may benefit from TrueCollab HR's fractional HR services.
  • Schedule discovery calls or meetings between qualified prospects and the Founder.
  • Maintain accurate records of all calls, emails, conversations, notes, and outcomes in HubSpot CRM.
  • Keep contact and prospect information updated to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Track outreach activity and provide weekly updates on call volume, connection rates, conversations, qualified leads, and pipeline activity.
  • Capture and communicate common prospect questions, objections, and feedback to help improve messaging and outreach strategies.
  • Consistently follow the established outreach cadence and follow up with prospects in a timely manner.

What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days

During your first 90 days, you will be expected to:

  • Become fully familiar with HubSpot and TrueCollab HR's outreach process within your first two weeks.
  • Consistently execute the agreed daily outreach cadence across phone and email.
  • Build meaningful conversations with prospective clients and maintain consistent follow-up.
  • Generate qualified leads and schedule discovery calls with prospects who meet the target criteria.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records and activity logs.
  • Communicate prospect feedback, common objections, and outreach results proactively.
  • Work closely with the Founder to identify opportunities to improve messaging, targeting, and outreach effectiveness.

Work Setup

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Work Arrangement: Fully remote
  • Schedule: Working hours aligned with US Eastern or Central Time; specific schedule to be agreed upon
  • Tools: HubSpot CRM, communication platforms, and other software necessary to perform the role

About the Opportunity

This is a ground-floor opportunity to join and grow alongside a boutique HR consulting firm. You will work directly with the Founder and have a meaningful role in developing and refining TrueCollab HR's business development and outreach process.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership, is comfortable initiating conversations with new prospects, follows through consistently, communicates proactively, and is interested in building a long-term professional relationship with the team.

If you enjoy speaking with people, creating new business opportunities, and turning conversations into meaningful client relationships, we'd love to hear from you.
