What We’re Looking For:
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for generating new business and expanding relationships with existing clients for Wilcrest Pharma. This role will proactively engage hospital pharmacy leaders and other healthcare decision-makers through cold calls, targeted email outreach, conferences, trade shows, networking events, and in-person meetings. The ideal candidate brings established relationships within hospital pharmacy, understands the hospital purchasing environment, and has a genuine passion for building new, long-term customer relationships.
What You Will Do:
• Identify, prospect, and secure new business with hospitals, health systems, clinics, infusion centers, and pharmacies that may benefit from Wilcrest Pharma products and services.
• Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects through cold calling, targeted email campaigns, referrals, networking, industry research, and CRM-based follow-up.
• Leverage existing relationships with hospital pharmacy leaders and decision-makers while continuously developing new relationships across targeted accounts and markets.
• Grow existing client accounts by identifying additional product needs, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and expanding utilization of Wilcrest Pharma products and services.
• Develop account plans and outreach strategies for priority hospitals, health systems, integrated delivery networks, and other strategic customers.
• Conduct customer meetings, product presentations, and business reviews that clearly communicate Wilcrest Pharma’s value proposition and address customer needs.
• Represent Wilcrest Pharma at conferences, trade shows, association meetings, and networking events; initiate conversations, develop leads, and complete timely follow-up after each event.
• Cultivate productive relationships with group purchasing organizations and other healthcare contracting stakeholders, where applicable.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of prospects, customer interactions, opportunities, next steps, and forecasts in the CRM system.
• Collaborate with sales leadership, customer service, operations, quality, and other cross-functional teams to support customer onboarding, product availability, competitive pricing, and timely delivery.
• Monitor market trends, customer feedback, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities within the 503B outsourcing facility and conventional pharmaceutical markets.
• Meet or exceed assigned goals for new customer acquisition, account growth, pipeline development, and sales performance.
• Travel throughout North America to meet customers and prospects and to participate in industry events and Wilcrest Pharma activities. 50% travel required.
Who You Are:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years experience in pharmaceutical sales required.
• Proven pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical sales experience with direct experience selling to hospital pharmacy leaders and other hospital pharmacy stakeholders.
• Established relationships within hospital pharmacy and a demonstrated ability to build credibility with pharmacy decision-makers.
• Demonstrated success generating new business through cold calls, email outreach, networking, conferences, trade shows, and referral development.
• Experience growing existing customer accounts through consultative selling, relationship management, and identification of new opportunities.
• Experience with group purchasing organization relationships, contracting, or health-system procurement is a plus.
• Knowledge of hospital pharmacy purchasing processes, healthcare contracting, pharmaceutical distribution, and 503B outsourcing facilities is preferred.
• Excellent communication, listening, negotiation, presentation, and follow-up skills.
• Driver, desire for growth and exceeding goals, self-motivated, resilient, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of a territory and sales pipeline.
• Customer-focused and relationship-oriented, with a genuine passion for meeting new people and developing long-term partnerships.
• Proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly for customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

This position involves access to controlled substances and hazardous drugs and as such anyone who has been convicted of a felony or within the past two years any misdemeanor, or is currently charged with committing a criminal offense, is not eligible and will not be considered.
