We are seeking a seasoned BLMU with deep expertise in D365 to build and lead our team. The role centers on building and leading Columbus’ Dynamics 365 business in the United States, taking end to end accountability for commercial performance, profitable delivery and organizational development. The BLMU owns the revenue, business-line profit and agreed P&L commitments for the US market. This also means translating the global Dynamics strategy into an executable local plan aligned with the Global Dynamics Business Line Executive and the US Market Executive.
This is an end-to-end business-building role—not a sales-only or delivery-only position. You will personally lead and advance pipeline development, select opportunities, develop strategic customers and help your teams turn demand into well-qualified, deliverable business. At the same time, you will build the people, leadership capacity and repeatable operating structures needed for sustainable growth. In other words, the BLMU is a hands-on executive with active commercial ownership and informed delivery oversight.
Responsibilities:
The BLMU owns the US Dynamics business Plan as well as the growth and financial performance it evolves around. As such the role is accountable for managing revenue, profitability, margin, utilization and cash. The role actively partners with Finance on budgets, forecasts and reporting.
The BLMU orchestrates demand generation and owns pipeline quality. Moreover, they build customer, Microsoft and partner relationships, dynamically collaborating across marketing, sales and business lines with Columbus to generate growth opportunities within and beyond Dynamics.
In addition to managerial orchestration, the BLMU drives strategic deals from discovery to closure, shaping customer value, engaging decisionmakers and leading proposals, pricing and negotiations. Clearly the BLMU cannot be involved in all deals but it is important that they actively participate in deal shaping to lead from the front. This also includes validating scope, risks, margin and resources before commitment, ensuring profitable delivery and effective handover.
In the same manner, the BLMU owns selected strategic customer relationships. Develop account plans, retention, expansion and cross-selling through the Customer Development process. Combine hands-on involvement with delegation and coaching.
Delivery, customer outcomes and portfolio risk
On the delivery side of the business the BLMU steers project and service delivery overall and remains accountable for project profitability, delivery quality and portfolio risk. A specific focus will be to implement delivery excellence, best practices and process compliance rooted in global standards. The BLMU also serves as the local customer escalation point and takes ownership of coordinated resolution.
Build an organization designed for growth
It is a key part of the role to anticipate demand, capacity and skills needed from both a tactical and strategic perspective. This means driving phased hiring and investments against a qualified pipeline, backlog and ongoing delivery economics. Further, to balance current utilization with future growth, leveraging global resources before adding local headcount.
To support both strategic direction and growth of Columbus in the US and strategic customer roadmap initiatives, the BLMU looks to build and strengthen key partnerships in the channel including but not limited to Microsoft.
The BLMU builds clear roles, has decision rights and accountability across sales, solutioning and delivery. Develops leadership capacity and succession ahead of growth; In a small but growing organization it is key that BLMU owns people disciplines such as recruitment, talent and performance management.
Essential experience and capabilities
Columbus is looking for a demonstrated seasoned leader. With a track record in a technology consulting or business applications organization, with accountability for profitable growth, business-unit financial performance and people leadership. Evidence of personally originating, developing and closing consulting engagements, as well as expanding strategic accounts will be important. Also, strong commercial judgment across qualification, value-based selling, pricing, negotiation, and delivery economics is key to the successful candidate.
Dynamics 365 domain understanding and a sound technical overview of Microsoft cloud and AI capabilities would clearly be beneficial. Experience leading project or service portfolios, managing risk and working successfully with global or offshore delivery teams is a explicit prerequisite.
Moreover, the ideal candidate holds experience in building teams and operating structures that scale, e.g. within demand-led hiring, workforce planning, delegation, leadership development and repeatable processes. Strong English communication, executive stakeholder management, collaboration and coaching skills is required. Relevant higher education in technology or management, or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable experience
An established US market network, experience developing Microsoft or partner relationships, and a record of launching or expanding a Dynamics practice. Experience creating repeatable industry offerings and leading cross-business-line pursuits would further strengthen the candidate’s fit.

10+ years of leadership experience within a consulting environment.
10+ years of experience working within the D365 ecosystem.
