Sony is seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead the growth and day-to-day management of Sony’s Crystal LED product for the Virtual Production business. This role combines business management responsibilities with a strong understanding of the virtual production industry, Sony’s LED display technologies, and the technical requirements of today’s production environments. The Business Manager will develop and execute go-to-market strategies, including route-to-market, pricing, and channel programs, while working closely with key sales partners and customers to drive growth and maximize the success of the category.


The Business Manager will serve as a key subject-matter resource for Sony’s virtual production LED business, combining commercial expertise with a strong understanding of display technology, virtual production workflows, and customer requirements. This individual will work closely with customers, channel partners, internal sales teams, engineering, and Sony Japan HQ to identify market opportunities, influence future product development, and ensure Sony’s solutions remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.

Responsibilities


  • Serve as a subject-matter resource for Virtual Production LED, maintaining a strong understanding of virtual production workflows, LED display technology, and evolving production requirements. Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, engineering, product planning, and other teams to translate technical and customer requirements into actionable business strategies.
  • Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to Sony Japan HQ and product development teams, including competitive analysis, customer feedback, technical requirements, and future product opportunities. Prepare and present key business topics and recommendations for business reviews and planning meetings.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, industry developments, industry conference and events, competitive offerings, and sales performance to establish business targets, identify growth opportunities, and shape the strategic direction of the Virtual Production LED category.
  • Lead the PDCA business management cycle to establish priorities, track performance, identify opportunities and risks, and drive progress toward monthly, quarterly, and annual business objectives.
  • Partner with the Business Planning team to monitor product availability, inventory, shipments, and allocations, addressing issues that may impact sales performance or customer commitments.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, pricing, sales priorities, and channel programs, and communicate key product and business information to Sony sales organizations and channel partners.
  • Build relationships with key customers, production studios, integrators, rental companies, and technology partners to understand market and technical requirements, identify opportunities, and support the development of solutions that address emerging needs.

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in business management, product management, product marketing, commercialization, or a related role within the professional display, broadcast, production, or technology industry.
  • Strong business and commercial management skills, including experience with:
    • Business and go-to-market strategy
    • Financial planning, budgeting, pricing, and profitability
    • Sales forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain
    • Market, customer, and competitive analysis
  • Industry and technical knowledge of professional display technologies and applications, including:
    • LED technologies, specifications, system configurations, and factors affecting image quality and system performance
    • Virtual Production workflows and technologies, including LED volumes, content processing, camera tracking, and related production systems
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively drive business, identify market opportunities, and work collaboratively with sales organizations, customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into business and product strategies, working effectively across customers, sales, channel partners, engineering, product development, and Sony Japan HQ.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate market trends, competitive offerings, product performance, and financial data to support business decisions.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence and information systems, including (but not limited to) SAP (BW & PRP), Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex business and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $101,007 to $134,675. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus plan, which is based on company performance and is not guaranteed, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave, a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave.​
