Responsibilities
The Business Operations and Leadership Internship is one discipline of IDEMIA North America's Summer Internship Program. Join the IDEMIA team to support strategic growth initiatives across the federal, state, local, and commercial markets. Interns will work alongside capture managers, business development leaders, proposal professionals, and subject matter experts to help identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in market research, competitive intelligence, customer engagement, capture strategy, and proposal development while contributing to real-world growth initiatives.
In this role, interns will be embedded within IDEMIA's Business Development organization, applying classroom knowledge to a variety of market, capture, and pursuit activities. Projects are designed to strengthen strategic growth efforts, enhance opportunity visibility, and support the successful pursuit of new business across the organization.
A successful candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, an interest in strategy and growth, a natural curiosity about customers and markets, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Conduct market research and competitive intelligence to identify trends, customers, partners, and emerging business opportunities.
- Support opportunity qualification, pipeline development, and capture activities across strategic pursuits.
- Assist with customer, partner, and industry engagement planning, including preparation of briefing materials and meeting support.
- Contribute to proposal and presentation development by gathering research, developing content, and coordinating inputs from subject matter experts.
- Analyze procurement, market, and business development data to identify growth opportunities and strategic insights.
- Support the development of business development tools, knowledge repositories, and best practices that improve pursuit effectiveness.
- Take ownership of an intern project focused on improving a business development process, tool, or strategic initiative.
- Participate in regular coaching and mentoring sessions with business development leaders and internship program mentors.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Rising junior, senior, master's student, or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across diverse teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Interest in business development, sales, capture management, proposal development, or growth strategy.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and contribute.
- Creative thinker who is comfortable bringing forward new ideas and perspectives.
- 3.0 GPA or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in federal government contracting, public sector technology, homeland security, biometrics, identity management, or related markets.
- Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, or business case development through coursework, student organizations, or prior internships.
- Familiarity with proposal development, strategic planning, sales processes, or customer engagement activities.
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation development skills.
- Experience analyzing and synthesizing information from multiple sources into concise executive-level recommendations.
- Passion for solving business challenges, and supporting strategic initiatives.

The US hourly rate for this position is $20.
