Job Title: Business Operations Associate

Monthly Pay: $3,721 - $5,558 USD per month

Summary:

Accurate task updates, complete handoffs, and dependable follow-through are how good work is judged in this business operations role. The Business Operations Associate supports daily administrative workflows within the operations team under an operations team lead. You work with internal requesters, departmental contacts, and other operations colleagues to keep routine requests moving and make outstanding actions visible. This fully remote position lets you work from home in Utah, United States. Your contributions help colleagues find reliable status information and reduce avoidable delays between teams. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review incoming requests from shared email and task queues, identify the requested action, and sort work according to established priorities and instructions.
  • Check each request for a clear purpose, responsible contact, requested completion date, and necessary supporting information before beginning the assigned work.
  • Ask internal requesters for missing details, record their responses, and flag unclear instructions before making changes that could affect another team's work.
  • Organize assigned activities using a project management tool such as Asana, keeping task owners, due dates, dependencies, and progress updates current.
  • Complete routine business operations tasks using approved checklists, including updating internal trackers, preparing status summaries, and routing requests to the appropriate team.
  • Compare task updates against source information and established procedures, correcting straightforward discrepancies and noting unresolved questions for review by the operations team lead.
  • Follow up with task owners when responses or actions remain outstanding, documenting the latest update and identifying any effect on subsequent steps.
  • Escalate competing priorities, blocked requests, or unfamiliar exceptions to the operations team lead with a concise explanation of the issue and actions taken.
  • Close completed requests after checking that required actions are finished, handoff details are accessible, and internal requesters receive an appropriate completion update.
  • Maintain quality through accurate entries, timely turnaround, complete notes, and consistent follow-up; share recurring workflow obstacles and practical improvement suggestions during team reviews.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience required; related experience supporting business operations, internal service requests, or administrative workflows is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of task ownership, workflow stages, handoffs, and the importance of following standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to review information for completeness, compare details across sources, and recognize discrepancies without making unsupported assumptions.
  • Familiarity with digital task boards and willingness to learn the named project management system through guided practice.
  • Clear written communication for internal questions, concise status updates, completion notices, and useful handoff notes.
  • Ability to organize assigned work, follow checklists, and raise questions when priorities or instructions are unclear.
  • A reliable computer, high-speed internet, and quiet private workspace, with availability for the 40-hour weekly commitment and agreed working days and shift times.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Fully remote work from home in a desk-based business operations role serving internal teams.
  • Structured onboarding and training on Asana, established workflows, request checklists, and task handoff practices.
  • Regular check-ins with the team lead to review questions, discuss progress, and reinforce quality expectations.
  • Opportunities to build business operations skills in workflow coordination, process mapping, operational reporting, and practical process analysis.
  • Health coverage, paid leave, a 401(k), maternity leave, and stipends.
