🚀 Be part of a movement to change the way Europe pays

In today’s digital Europe, payments still feel too complicated. Random delays, confusing rules, extra apps and accounts make it harder than it should be to pay and get paid.

The European Payments Initiative is changing that with Wero, a proudly European digital wallet to make payments easier, clearer and more secure. Online, in store, at home and across borders, with your money and data protected under European laws and regulations.

Wero is live in Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands and launching very soon in Luxembourg and Austria. Backed by 17 major banks and the two largest European acquirers, we’re building a brand new, proudly European payment system.

🔎 What's in it for you

  • Be part of a major European payment initiative: Contribute to the development of Wero, a new European payment solution shaping the future of digital payments.

  • Gain hands-on business and analytical experience: Work with real business data, analyse performance KPIs using Databricks and contribute to strategic projects with tangible business impact.

  • Get exposure to an international business environment: Collaborate with different teams and stakeholders across European markets, gaining insights into payment ecosystems, business operations and market strategies.

🐝 About the team

Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, you'll contribute to member performance monitoring, shop system market analysis and incentive programme reporting.

You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with different teams, participate in member meetings and support projects that contribute to Wero's growth and adoption.

💥 Your impact

As a Business Operations & Performance Analyst Intern, you will contribute to several key business activities:

  • Monitor member performance: Support the implementation and maintenance of the Member Acceptance Report, analysing member performance and key KPIs using Databricks.

  • Support business reporting: Prepare presentations and performance reports for management reviews and member meetings, translating data into clear and actionable insights.

  • Explore the European payment ecosystem: Research and analyse shop system providers across Wero markets, identifying market trends, opportunities and potential partners.

  • Contribute to strategic development: Support the preparation of a shop system strategy paper by gathering market insights and developing recommendations.

  • Track incentive programme performance: Monitor incentive and reward programmes, analysing KPIs, incentive utilisation and budget consumption to identify potential deviations from targets.

  • Support digital performance improvement: Analyse Wero website performance, identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to updates of shop system-related content.

  • Ensure operational excellence: Maintain accurate and consistent data across SharePoint and CRM systems, while supporting the preparation and coordination of mailing campaigns.

  • Support stakeholder collaboration: Participate in member meetings and contribute to follow-up activities, ensuring effective coordination and communication.

🕵🏻‍♀️ To succeed, you should meet at least 70% of these requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Management or a related field.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Additional European languages are a plus.

  • Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.

  • Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Eager to learn, take initiative and contribute to a fast-growing European payment initiative.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify meaningful business insights.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to work with data and prepare clear, structured presentations.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in reporting, data management and administrative tasks.

  • Previous experience or academic exposure to data analysis tools such as Databricks, Power BI or similar platforms.

  • Interest in the European payments industry, fintech, digital commerce or business strategy.

🪜 If this looks like you, the recruitment steps are:

  • Remote-first culture with quarterly and annual all-staff in-person meetups to keep teams connected and collaborative

  • Possibility to work from another EU country for up to 3 months per year

  • Competitive compensation package, featuring salary, performance-based bonus, and a thoughtfully designed, high-quality benefits program

  • The opportunity to be part of a multicultural European company
