Business Performance Analyst

  • $124,535 per annum + 12% superannuation
  • Full time / fixed term opportunity until 31 December 2027
  • Wadawurrung/Geelong based role (hybrid work from home – 3 days a week in office)

About the opportunity

This role is positioned in the Audit Team within the Agent Performance and Relationships Division (APRD) This division plays an important role in supporting strong performance, compliance and continuous improvement across WorkSafe’s Agents and the broader Scheme.

As a Business Performance Analyst, you will combine your audit expertise and workers compensation claims experience to assess Agent performance, provide well-reasoned audit outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement. Working in a connected way, you will build trusted relationships with Agents and internal stakeholders, using insights from audits and performance data to support better outcomes across the Scheme

What You'll Do

  • Manage assigned audits and projects within the annual Agent audit program, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertake APA, Schedule G and verification audits, completing detailed reviews and making well-reasoned determinations against performance measures and compliance standards.
  • Analyse audit and performance results to identify trends, gaps, risks and opportunities to improve Agent and Scheme performance.
  • Manage audit outcomes and peer review processes, clearly communicating decisions and the rationale for outcomes to Agents.
  • Build collaborative relationships with Agents and internal teams, providing advice on business rules, compliance requirements and performance matters.
  • Contribute to improvements in audit systems, processes and business rules to support efficient and effective delivery of the audit program.

About you

You are an experienced audit, risk or workers compensation professional who is comfortable working with complex claims information and making sound, evidence-based decisions. You bring strong analytical judgement and can translate detailed audit findings into clear recommendations and practical actions.

You are organised and comfortable managing competing priorities with limited supervision, while maintaining a collaborative approach. Importantly, you can constructively challenge, influence and advise stakeholders while building positive working relationships.

Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Strong knowledge and experience across a range of HR disciplines, including performance management, personal development, remuneration, classification systems, coaching, counselling, team development, facilitation and talent management.
  • Recent experience and strong knowledge of audit and risk management.
  • Significant experience in workers compensation claims management, including claims decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret audit results and performance data, identify trends and develop meaningful reports and recommendations.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to provide advice and expertise in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to work under limited supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience working with relevant claims management systems, including ACCtion and Novus, along with proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or significant equivalent industry experience.
