Buyer

We are supporting the recruitment of a Buyer for an international manufacturing company with a production facility in Ramnicu Valcea, Romania, and an international supplier network.

This role focuses on the initial stages of the sourcing process, including identifying potential suppliers, assessing their capabilities, coordinating RFQs and evaluating supplier proposals to support supplier selection for industrial manufacturing projects.

We are looking for a proactive professional with experience in manufacturing sourcing, strong analytical skills and the ability to identify suitable suppliers and evaluate their capabilities against technical and business requirements.

Your responsibilities

• Identify and map potential suppliers for industrial components and manufacturing projects.
• Assess supplier technical capabilities, production capacity, lead times and readiness to support new projects and production volumes.
• Coordinate RFQ processes, analyse quotations and compare supplier proposals and cost structures.
• Evaluate suppliers based on technical capabilities, commercial terms, quality standards and delivery performance.
• Support supplier qualification and selection in collaboration with Engineering and Quality teams.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization, supplier development, localization and benchmarking.
• Support new product introduction and industrialization projects through early supplier involvement and capacity validation.
• Assess potential supplier and supply chain risks before supplier selection.
• Build relationships with potential suppliers and maintain communication throughout the sourcing and evaluation process.

What are we looking for?

• At least 5 years of experience in Sourcing, Purchasing or Buying within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience in supplier identification, qualification, RFQ coordination and supplier evaluation.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, cost drivers and supplier capabilities.
• Experience with industrial products such as machined components, forgings, castings or similar commodities is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Quality and other internal stakeholders.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel to the manufacturing site in Ramnicu Valcea and to suppliers when required.
