Bespoke Post is a lifestyle brand built on the spirit of discovery. We’re dedicated to tracking down under-the-radar goods and creating guides that help our customers level up their daily lives. Whether it’s through our shop, editorial stories, award-winning subscription boxes, or our own lineup of in-house brands, we’re here to shine a light on quality products and interesting people that spark curiosity and lead to richer experiences.
The Role
The Buyer for Home at Bespoke Post is a pivotal role focused on curating and developing our in-house brands and selecting top-tier products from third-party vendors. This role requires strong business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of the customer, product life cycle, retail mathematics, and effective inventory management strategies. With an eye for innovation and quality, you'll align new products with our brand ethos and drive growth within your category.
What You'll Do:
Category Ownership & Growth: You'll own the Home category from end to end, accountable for its growth and for how it performs against business objectives. You work with the planning team to set goals and strategy. You're the person who answers for the results, not just someone who fills an assortment.
Assortment & Brand Mix: You'll be responsible for sourcing niche and unique products, and for identifying opportunities to develop new in-house products, in partnership with Product Development, that fit with our ethos. You hold everything we sell to a consistent standard of quality and brand fit. You'll stay ahead of market trends, customer preferences, and the competitive landscape, and turn what you learn into new opportunities for the category.
Vendor Relationships & Negotiation: You'll lead our vendor relationships, including dropship partners, from first conversation through long-term partnership. You negotiate pricing, terms, and exclusivity, set the quality bar vendors are held to, and build the relationships that give us an edge.
Financial Oversight & Open-to-Buy: You'll manage the Open-to-Buy budget for Home and are accountable for making it work toward business goals. You apply retail math and sound judgment to make decisions. You turn numbers into information for buy decisions, where to invest, where to pull back, and how to keep inventory healthy.
Alignment & Storytelling: You’ll align product messaging and narratives to the brand. You understand that a great product is only part of the job; how it's framed and introduced to the customer matters just as much.
Who You Are:
You're comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities at once, and you're willing to roll up your sleeves and stay close to day-to-day operations.
You hold strategic ownership and operational detail together without losing sight of either.
You bring 4-6 years of buying experience, including work with dropship vendors, along with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
You negotiate and communicate with clarity and confidence, and you make sound calls with the information in front of you.
