Role Description We are looking for an experienced C++ Engineer to join our team You will report to the Director of Core Software, Broadband business unit You will be based in Bengaluru, India Location Hybrid work with at least 3 times a week from the office in Bengaluru. What you will be doing: The position involves C/C++ and/or python development of next-generation cable industry leading products, services and systems for Harmonic. Successful candidates for this position have experience in the design, development and test of Passive Optical Network (PON) Optical Line Terminal (OLT) access solutions. Candidates will learn and build on experience using advanced C++ and python technologies, containerized solutions (Docker and k8s), Embedded Systems and various networking environments developed to operate within Linux servers using cutting-edge technologies and techniques. As part of the role, you will be involved in the following areas: C/C++ and/or python code development of OLT device programming, ONU management & control, and state-of-the-art system orchestration capabilities as part of our R&D team Investigations and debug of complex issues both from Harmonic QA and Customer Networks Plan, design, implement, and test within an agile development framework What you should have: B.Sc. in computer science / software engineering / electrical engineering 3-5 years’ experience in Software Application development of one or more of the following: IEEE (xEPON), ITU-T (xGPON) PON, G.984.4/G.988 OMCI, DPoE®/IEEE 1904.1 SIEPON or related OAM Practical knowledge of DPoE and/or TR-156/200 Experience with BBF CCO and OB-BAA, ONF CORD, SEBA, and vOLT-ha - advantage Development within Linux Embedded environment C/C++ Programming. Python – advantage Experience in Networking, Multi-threading, OOD and Design patterns. DOCSIS / DPDK knowledge – advantage High level of interpersonal skills.
