Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Cable Engineer to support U.S. Army network infrastructure programs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, installing, testing, and maintaining both copper and fiber optic cabling systems in secure, mission-critical environments. This role requires a strong understanding of DoD standards, structured cabling systems, and the ability to work in both field and facility settings. Active Secret clearance or higher required. This position features 50-75% national travel (on average two weeks travelling with two weeks off work). #LAT Responsibilities: Design, install, terminate, and test copper (CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A) and fiber optic (single-mode and multi-mode) cabling systems Perform cable routing, labeling, and documentation in accordance with Army and DoD standards Conduct testing and certification of cabling infrastructure using tools such as OTDR, power meters, and cable analyzers Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues across LAN/WAN infrastructure Interpret technical drawings, network diagrams, and blueprints to support installation and upgrades Support network infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and relocations across Army facilities Maintain accurate documentation including as-built drawings, test results, and cable records Ensure compliance with applicable standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, NEC, and DoD Unified Facilities Criteria) Coordinate with network engineers, system administrators, and project managers to support mission requirements Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on cabling systems Adhere to all safety, security, and access control protocols when working in secure or classified environment
