The Cables & Cooling Platform Lead is a high-impact role for an ambitious engineering leader who makes sure our products are reliable, scalable, and easy to service.
At the heart of our engineering business, the Cables & Cooling Platform Lead owns and drives a reusable cable platform for our DC fast-charing products: charging cables, connectors, cooling-related cable components, terminations, and their integration into the product portfolio. Owning the platform means that you will be responsible from the platform roadmap all the way to bringing the product to the field, and improving based on customer feedback.
We are not looking for a specialist only, but for a leader that thrives at combining engineering judgement with business awareness, customer focus, and the ability to engage credibly with executive leadership.
If you're ready to shape and execute, we'd like to hear from you.
What you will do:
- Set the direction: Define the cable-platform strategy, roadmap, and architecture across our DC fast-charging portfolio.
- Build once, configure often: Create a modular platform supporting CCS1, CCS2, NACS, and MCS, through smart configuration rather than endless new designs.
- Choose the right partners: Lead supplier selection, qualification, validation, and industrialization. Challenge suppliers on maturity, quality, and capacity.
- Fix problems for good: Connect field failures, quality trends, service feedback, and test data into one improvement agenda. Drive root-cause analysis on issues like crimp quality, contact resistance, overheating, cooling, and sealing, through to permanent solutions.
- Spot risks early: Catch issues before release and not when the product is out in the field already.
- Lead and grow the team: Set clear priorities, coach, hold people accountable, and build a stronger sense of urgency.
- Influence at the top: Present strategy, risks, and trade-offs clearly to R&D and executive leadership, with recommendations, not just problems.
What you will bring:
You're proactive, ambitious, structured, and resilient, with a strong drive to own things and get them done. You treat field problems as valuable product feedback, collaborate openly, and aren't afraid to challenge constructively. You want to build reliable, scalable products and stronger engineering teams, and you're aiming for broader R&D leadership.
Other requirements:
- Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in demanding electromechanical products, such as high-power interconnects, charging equipment, automotive electrification, or cables and connectors.
- Experienced in working directly with suppliers or manufacturing partners.
- Comfortable with problem-solving tools like 8D, A3, FMEA, fault-tree analysis, or DOE
- A plus: familiarity with platforms or modular architectures, reliability engineering, and standards such as CCS, NACS, MCS, IEC, UL, or SAE
- Skilled at leading cross-functional projects, influencing senior stakeholders, and deciding under uncertainty.
- Excellent communication skills (verbally & written) in English.
What success will look like in 12 months:
- An approved cable-platform strategy and roadmap that guides product and sourcing decisions
- Arising critical field issues fixed permanently, with clear ownership, and fast containment
- Stronger supplier qualification and performance management
- Product teams adopting standardized solutions and cutting unnecessary variation
- Executives with clear visibility of platform health, risks, and required actions
- A cable team with greater urgency and more consistent delivery
