Over the past 40 years, MCD Global Health has worked to strengthen health systems through integrated, sustainable, and locally driven interventions across several public health sectors. MCD collaborates with donors, national governments, the private sector, health agencies, communities, and local stakeholders to improve health and save lives in the following areas: malaria prevention and control; water, sanitation, and hygiene; maternal, neonatal, and child health; health system strengthening; HIV/AIDS; Zika; and other communicable diseases.
MCD is now officially included in Gavi’s list of awarded suppliers for Gavi 6.0, which focuses on increasing equitable and sustainable use of vaccines. Under this framework agreement, which remains active until December 31, 2030, Gavi may invite MCD to participate in a secondary bidding process.
MCD is currently seeking multiple candidates to support these potential service requests. The timeline for these positions is not yet determined, but they will generally fall between 2026 and 2030. Additionally, these positions may require various levels of effort, ranging from part-time to full-time. Please note that there is no guarantee of immediate employment at this stage.
There will be multiple successful candidates fulfilling various roles. In general, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Professional experience in one or more of the following:
o Benin
o Madagascar
o Mozambique
o Uganda
At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in immunization.
Ability to travel extensively in the countries listed above.
Technical expertise and qualifications in one or more of the following areas:
Service Delivery
Proven record of leading and providing technical support to national Ministries of Health/immunization programs to reach zero-dose and under-immunized children alongside partners such as WHO, UNICEF, and Gavi.
Expertise in integrating the delivery of services to improve the efficiency, regularity, reliability, and equitable access to planned immunization activities, with a focus on zero-dose and under-immunized children and missed communities.
Experience in designing and implementing knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) surveys, or user acceptance surveys.
Experience collaborating with multiple civil society organizations to provide immunization services.
Advanced degree in Medicine, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
Data Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and AEFI
Strong understanding of M&E principles, methods, and tools, including digital tools, and a proven record of designing and implementing immunization programs’ MEL systems.
Substantial experience tracking, monitoring, and evaluating progress in implementing immunization/EPI initiatives in low- and middle-income countries.
Experience supporting national and sub-national health teams in improving data quality and data use to achieve immunization program goals.
Experience in AEFI surveillance and response, pharmacovigilance, and implementation of clinical trials.
Experience scaling up digital health information interventions based on national needs, priorities, plans, strategies, and readiness.
Advanced degree in Statistics, Information Technology, Public Health, Economics, or a related field.
