The client is a licensed electronic money institution operating in the European FinTech and payments sector. It provides electronic money, payment account and transfer services integrated with online financial platforms. The company is expanding its service range and developing card-based payment capabilities for customers across European markets. Its focused structure allows specialists to work closely with decision-makers, technology teams and external payment partners.

💼 About the Role

As a Card Transactions Specialist, you will help ensure that card payments are processed, reconciled and resolved accurately throughout the transaction lifecycle. You will investigate failed, reversed, disputed or unmatched transactions and coordinate solutions with internal teams, processors and other payment partners. The role combines daily operational ownership with opportunities to improve controls and support the development of card services.

🔍 Responsibilities

  • Monitor card authorisations, clearing, settlement and other daily transaction flows;

  • Investigate declined, reversed, duplicated, delayed or otherwise unmatched card transactions;

  • Perform daily reconciliations between processing systems, settlement accounts and internal records;

  • Manage refunds, reversals, retrieval requests, disputes and chargeback cases within applicable deadlines;

  • Analyse card transaction fees, settlement differences and operational adjustments;

  • Coordinate issue resolution with card processors, banking partners and internal Technology, Finance and Customer Support teams;

  • Identify unusual activity and escalate potential fraud, AML or operational risk concerns;

  • Maintain accurate records, supporting evidence and audit trails for operational cases;

  • Prepare regular reports on transaction volumes, exceptions, disputes and operational performance;

  • Help improve card operations procedures, controls, system functionality and customer experience.

🎓 Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in card operations, payment operations, banking or FinTech;

  • Understanding of the card transaction lifecycle, including authorisation, clearing and settlement;

  • Practical experience with reconciliations, payment investigations or dispute management;

  • Ability to analyse transactional data and resolve discrepancies accurately;

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel or comparable data analysis tools;

  • Ability to manage time-sensitive cases and communicate effectively with external partners;

  • Professional written and spoken Lithuanian and English.

Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of card scheme rules and chargeback processes;

  • Experience working with card processors, issuing platforms or payment gateways;

  • Familiarity with fraud monitoring, 3-D Secure or card transaction risk controls;

  • Experience using SQL, APIs or automated reconciliation tools.

🤝 Key Competencies

  • Accuracy and strong ownership of operational outcomes;

  • Structured problem-solving under time pressure;

  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders;

  • Ability to recognise patterns and investigate discrepancies;

  • A control-focused approach to handling financial data.

✨ The Employer Offers

  • A salary depending on experience and competence;

  • A hybrid working model;

  • Direct involvement in developing and improving card payment operations;

  • Collaboration with payment processors, technology teams and experienced FinTech professionals;

  • Regular professional training and opportunities to deepen card scheme expertise;

  • Modern working tools and a comfortable Vilnius office;

  • Career development opportunities across payments, operations and financial product management.

If you understand how card transactions move from authorisation to settlement and enjoy resolving the exceptions in between, this role offers meaningful operational ownership. Submit your application to start a confidential conversation.
