Role Description The Career Consultant Learnship program is a full-time remote role focused on supporting individuals in their professional growth within the African business ecosystem. Day-to-day tasks include providing career guidance through one-on-one consultations, assisting participants with career planning, and helping them identify suitable learning and development opportunities. The role involves facilitating virtual workshops and webinars, developing career resources such as guides and toolkits, and collaborating with SLH teams to align career support with broader business and networking initiatives. The Career Consultant will also monitor progress, gather feedback, and adjust career development plans to ensure participants gain practical skills and meaningful connections that enhance their long-term career prospects.
Qualifications

• Career Counseling and Student Counseling skills to provide individualized guidance and support.
• Career Development and Career Management skills to design and implement effective career growth plans.
• Strong Communication skills, including active listening, clear written and verbal communication, and facilitation of group sessions.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and handle multiple participants and projects.
• Experience or strong interest in talent development, coaching, or human resources, preferably within African or emerging markets.
• Comfort with digital collaboration tools, online learning platforms, and basic data tracking for participant progress.
• Relevant education in Counseling, Psychology, Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field is beneficial.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practices and supporting diverse backgrounds and career paths.
