The pay range for this position is $25.24-$32.81 Hourly. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Cash Posting Specialist is a member of a nationally-centralized department and is equally responsible for special handling posting situations such as research and audits of manual (ten- key data entry) and/or 835 auto-posting revenue-related cash receipts (e.g. Government, Commercial, and private payers) into A/R system both timely and accurately, as well as meeting individual posting objectives, with superior ability to trend and communicate discrepancies/areas of improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform Quality Assurance related tasks such as routine internal audits pertaining to proper posting of payments, adjustments, copay creation, handling of payment discrepancies, handling of unreconciled transactions, and research thereof, in accordance with company and departmental policies, procedures, and/or practices.
  • Timely and accurately report on results of Audit reviews.
  • Assist Managers with researching and/or answering escalated questions and training procedures for Cash Posting Coordinators, such as help in researching transactions that would otherwise lead to Unreconciled postings.
  • Assist with testing of new software and/or procedures, being a Point of Contact for questions during implementation.
  • Collaborate with Training Coordinator to identify training needs/opportunities and assist with training efforts.
  • Assist with Trend validation and research.
  • Accurately and timely post revenue-related A/R cash receipts and/or denials.
  • Convert payer-specific denial or payment codes into HIPAA compliant reject codes.
  • Download 835 files as needed from clearinghouse website and upload into billing system.
  • Balance each posting batch and participate in mid-month and month end balancing, as assigned by manager.
  • Research, track and trend payment discrepancies and communicate trends and/or items requiring attention.
  • Assist with balancing efforts.
  • Research escalated posting errors, and/or process cash posting related requests from our billing centers.
  • Utilize Numotion Leadership Principles to perform job with integrity, compliance, and values consistent with Numotion’s mission.

  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school education is required.
  • Consistent superior level of accuracy in handling posting transactions and inquiries in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • In depth knowledge of posting software and process
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, identify causes and make solid recommendations to resolute posting issues/questions/trends.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel skills required.
  • Track record of volunteering for special projects and/or testing; rising to challenges; going extra step to meet business goals/deadlines.
  • Superior customer service skills and team spirit, showcasing timely, professional, and accurate responses and/or advice.
  • Strong computer skills and data entry skills are required. Ten key skills: 10,000+kph preferred.
