Remote Cash Posting & Reconciliation Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Are you a healthcare revenue cycle professional with strong cash posting and reconciliation experience? We're partnering with an innovative healthcare organization seeking a detail-oriented Cash Posting & Reconciliation Specialist to join a growing remote team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with large datasets, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring financial accuracy in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

What You'll Do

Post and reconcile healthcare payments, including ERAs, EFTs, checks, and credit card payments.
Review and reconcile daily cash activity against bank deposits and remittance files.
Research and resolve unapplied or unidentified cash.
Investigate payment variances and reconcile discrepancies.
Post adjustments, denials, recoupments, refunds, and contractual allowances.
Maintain accurate documentation and reconciliation logs.
Partner with billing, A/R, finance, and payer teams to resolve payment issues.
Assist with month-end reconciliation activities and reporting.
Identify trends and root causes of posting errors and payment discrepancies.

What We're Looking For

2+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience.
Experience with cash posting, payment reconciliation, accounts receivable, or payment research.
Strong knowledge of ERA/EOB processing, EFTs, payer remittances, denials, and adjustments.
Experience researching unapplied cash and resolving payment discrepancies.
Advanced attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong Excel skills, including filtering, sorting, lookups, and pivot tables.
Experience with healthcare billing or practice management systems, such as Athenahealth or similar platforms, is preferred.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

Fully remote position.
Standard schedule around 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Mountain Time with occasional flexibility as needed.
High-volume, data-driven environment requiring strong accuracy and organization.
Heavy use of Excel, healthcare billing systems, and payer portals.
Candidates must have a dedicated private workspace and provide compatible dual-monitor setup, keyboard, and mouse.

This is a Contract position based out of Denver, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
