Role Purpose
The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for leading performance management, forecasting, planning, and reporting activities across the Europe & META business unit. Working closely with Finance Business Teams, Sales, Marketing, and Leadership Teams, the role ensures the delivery of accurate management information, financial insights, and decision support.
The position provides strategic financial partnership by translating complex financial and operational data into actionable business insights. The successful candidate will drive performance improvements, support decision-making, and ensure strong financial governance across Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Channels, Segments, Markets, and Strategic Accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Management & Reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reporting activities across the Europe & META region.
- Analyze financial results, identify performance drivers, and challenge stakeholders to implement corrective actions before the close cycle is completed.
- Deliver insightful analysis across multiple business dimensions, including brands, channels, markets, geographies, and strategic accounts.
- Translate financial and operational performance into clear, concise updates for business leaders and leadership teams.
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Own and coordinate the annual planning process, ensuring alignment across Finance, Sales, Marketing, and other key functions.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of all financial data submitted through performance management systems.
- Lead the rolling forecast process, supporting Global GFO submissions and ensuring forecasts are robust, accurately challenged, and business-aligned.
- Deliver forecast reporting alongside performance analysis and business insights.
Business Partnering & Decision Support
- Build and maintain proactive business partnerships with leadership teams, Sales, Marketing, and Finance partners.
- Facilitate performance discussions between central finance teams, FBT, and business functions to deepen understanding of financial performance.
- Provide commercial insights and market intelligence to support strategic decision-making.
- Find opportunities for business improvement and recommend actions to enhance financial and operational performance.
Performance Improvement & Analytics
- Develop, maintain, and monitor key performance indicators to track business performance and emerging trends.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives and continuous improvement programs in partnership with FBT teams.
- Identify process, system, and data-related challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
- Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making through effective use of management information and analytics.
Systems & Data Management
- Handle and coordinate financial reporting and performance systems, including BPC and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
- Drive the enhancement and adoption of Power BI dashboards and self-service reporting capabilities.
- Ensure data quality, system integrity, and adherence to reporting standards and governance requirements.
Qualifications
Essential Education
- Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related subject area preferred.
- Alternatively, an MBA or equivalent experience with a Finance specialization or professional qualification.
Experience & Skills
Essential
- Strong command of written and spoken English;
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, forecasting, performance management, and management reporting.
- Advanced analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret large, complex datasets.
- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Excellent understanding of reporting systems, financial data structures, and performance management frameworks.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, international environment.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive outcomes with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong commercial competence and understanding of business performance drivers.
- Experience within Castrol or a comparable multinational commercial environment.
- Hands-on experience with SAP modules including PRE, PRK, FI, CO, BW, BCS, and FBW.
- Advanced Excel and business intelligence skills.
- Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP accounting standards.
- Understanding of group reporting standards, systems, and governance frameworks.
- Substantial experience in financial management, statutory accounting, or commercial finance within an international organization.
