  • Coordinate annual and interim chargemaster reviews with department leaders, finance, coding, compliance, billing, and clinical subject-matter experts.
  • Evaluate charge-capture workflows for hospital departments, specialty clinics, and Rural Health Clinics; identify missed, duplicate, delayed, or unsupported charges and recommend corrective action.

  • Monitor coding, payer, reimbursement, and regulatory updates that may affect charge descriptions, billing edits, fee schedules, or claim submission.
  • Validate that RHC services and non-RHC services are distinguished within workflows and systems and routed to the appropriate billing process.
  • Support Critical Access Hospital billing workflows, including hospital, professional, outpatient, inpatient, observation, emergency, laboratory, therapy, imaging, pharmacy, and supply charges, as applicable.
  • Partner with specialty clinic leaders to maintain procedure, drug, supply, implant, and medication-administration charge structures.
  • Perform routine audits and data analyses to identify inactive, inconsistent, duplicate, or potentially noncompliant charge records.
  • Investigate charge-related claim edits, denials, underpayments, and reconciliation variances; document findings and coordinate resolution.
  • Maintain change logs, approval records, testing documentation, reference materials, policies, procedures, and departmental education.
  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades, interfaces, and testing that affect orders, documentation, charge routing, coding, billing, or general ledger mapping.
  • Provide education and technical guidance to clinical and operational departments on charge entry, documentation expectations, and charge-capture controls.
  • Protect confidential patient, employee, financial, and proprietary information and follow organizational privacy and security requirements.
  • Escalate identified compliance concerns through established organizational channels and assist with corrective-action monitoring.
