Show job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chartered Wealth Planner to join a highly regarded, award-winning boutique Wealth Management business in the City of London.

The firm provides holistic Financial Planning and Investment Management services to HNW private clients, charities and trustees and currently manages approximately £550m of client assets across 800 clients and 500 family groups.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Wealth Planner looking to join a smaller, relationship-led business where the emphasis is firmly on providing a first-class service to clients.

The Role

You will join an established team of Wealth Planners and, importantly, will be provided with a high-quality existing client bank from the outset.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing holistic Financial Planning advice to HNW private clients
  • Advising across pensions, investments, retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, protection and business succession
  • Building long-term relationships with an established client bank
  • Conducting annual client reviews and ensuring ongoing suitability
  • Using Voyant to produce detailed cashflow modelling
  • Working closely with experienced Paraplanning and Client Services teams
  • Developing relationships with professional connections, including accountants and private client lawyers
  • Generating referrals from existing clients and professional connections
  • Developing your own client relationships and business opportunities over time
  • Maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and client service

This is not a cold business-development role. A quality client bank will be provided from the outset, with the successful individual encouraged to develop their own client base over time. The firm's new business is predominantly generated through existing client referrals and professional connections.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an experienced and highly personable Wealth Planner who is comfortable operating within the HNW private client market.

Ideally, you will possess:

  • Chartered Financial Planner status
  • Circa five years' client-facing Financial Planning experience
  • Strong technical Financial Planning and Wealth Management knowledge
  • Experience advising HNW private clients
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  • A commercial mindset and confidence generating referrals from existing relationships
  • The ability to operate effectively within a small, specialist and collaborative team

Cultural fit is particularly important. The business is looking for somebody articulate, professional and personable who genuinely enjoys developing long-term relationships with clients.

Salary & Benefits

  • £75,000 – £90,000 basic salary, with potential flexibility depending on experience
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Non-contributory company pension
  • Private medical insurance
  • Income protection
  • Minimum 25 days' annual leave
  • Financial support towards relevant professional qualifications
  • Hybrid working – three days per week in the office

The business is entirely staff-owned following a management buyout, providing an environment where employees can have a genuine influence on the continued development of the firm, with potential longer-term scope for equity participation.

This is a particularly attractive opportunity for a Chartered Wealth Planner who wants to inherit a quality HNW client bank while joining a successful boutique business with a strong reputation for client service.
