Chief Electrical Engineer serves as the technical authority to support large and complex international engineering projects, providing leadership in mentoring and growing a high-performance Electrical team including supporting team in project execution by planning, coordination, and delivery of multidisciplinary USA based projects.
This role carries overall responsibility for development, implementation and continuous improvement of electrical deliverable’s technical quality, schedule adherence, budget performance, client satisfaction, and cross-functional coordination. The position requires independent judgment, advanced engineering expertise, and active participation in business development and client relationship management.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced electrical engineering support across SSOE’s key market sectors including automotive, EV/battery, semiconductor, data center, and process industries (Glass, FMCG, and Pharma) projects based out of USA
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, training and performance guidance to engineers, designers, and project team members to strengthen their technical depth and leadership skills
Lead the growth and development of Electrical engineering practices in India office
Enhance quality and ownership of below listed design deliverables as India team takes more complex project.
Design & Calculations: load lists, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and power layouts, equipment sizing, conductor sizing, voltage drop, SCC and conduit/tray fill calculations, duct bank heat load calculation, heat tracing, earthing & bonding, lighting calculations using NEC/NFPA 70 codes, IEEE standards and local requirements.
Equipment Selection: Assist in specifying and selecting LV/MV/HV switchgear, transformers, generators, capacitors / reactors, resistance rounding, MCCs, and UPS systems in accordance to US standards (NEC/IEEE).
Power System Studies: Support modeling and analysis in SKM / Easypower / ETAP (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Coordination, and Arc Flash).
Review: Providing concept review at various levels of deliverables.
Documentation: technical specifications and helping engineers to respond to RFIs.
Lead engineers with full technical responsibility for project deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable US NEC codes, IEEE standards, local county & client requirements, and company quality procedures teams while promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
Support in creating & updating standard operating procedures and SSOE standards on regular intervals
Review and approve major engineering decisions involving equipment selection, material specifications, technical evaluations, and construction methodologies.
Develop creative solutions for technically challenging and unconventional engineering problems by applying specialized expertise and industry best practices.
Maintain effective working relationships with internal & external stakeholders, global teams and clients.
Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering disciplines and successful project outcomes.
Establish project execution strategies, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project budgets, schedules, and quality objectives.
Participate actively in business development initiatives, proposal preparation, fee development, and client presentations.
Support project pursuits by developing technical strategies and contributing specialized expertise during the proposal and interview process.
Maintain current knowledge of engineering technologies, industry trends, codes, standards, and professional licensing requirements.
Travel as required to support client engagements, project execution, site visits, and business development activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent professional licensure is preferred (not mandatory).
Minimum of 20+ years of progressive engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing, process, or related facility design projects.
Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, complex multidisciplinary engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, applicable codes and standards, and project delivery methodologies.
Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and client expectations.
Experience supervising and mentoring engineering and design professionals.
- Strong business acumen with experience supporting proposals, client presentations, and project pursuits.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience serving as Engineer of Record for major industrial or manufacturing facility projects.
Proven success in client management and business development activities.
Experience working with international clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
Advanced knowledge of industry software, BIM workflows, and digital engineering tools (Not Mandatory).
Experience supporting automotive, battery manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, chemical, or advanced industrial projects (manufacturing facilities).
