Job Description & Summary

The Chief of Staff to the Chief Risk Officer is a senior enabling role that helps the CRO translate risk strategy and priorities into coordinated execution across the Risk function and the wider firm. The role serves as a trusted support to the CRO, strengthens governance and leadership effectiveness, and ensures that priorities, decisions, actions and communications are progressed with pace and discipline. The Chief of Staff does not assume the CRO’s formal accountabilities, risk ownership or decision rights. The role facilitates, coordinates, challenges and drives execution on behalf of the CRO, while decisions and formal accountability remain with the CRO and the relevant governance or business owners. It is not an executive assistant, a diary manager, or a pure project manager. It is not a simple administration role.

Your future role:

• Acting as a trusted advisor to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), helping shape priorities, anticipate emerging issues and translate the CRO agenda into clear plans and actions,
• Supporting the effective operation of key Risk & Quality forums, including agenda planning, preparation of decision materials, briefing papers, records of decisions and disciplined follow-up,
• Driving coordination across Risk teams and with relevant business and enabling functions, clarifying dependencies, ownership and escalation pathways,
• Tracking the delivery of strategic initiatives, commitments and agreed actions, identifying obstacles, challenging progress and escalating matters requiring CRO attention,
• Preparing high-quality analyses, presentations, communications and decision-support materials tailored to senior leadership and governance audiences,
• Leading or coordinating selected priority projects on behalf of the CRO while maintaining clear accountability with initiative owners and subject matter experts,
• Ensuring the effective operation of the CRO Office through disciplined planning, prioritisation, meeting cadence and follow-through,
• Supporting the continuous enhancement of governance, leadership effectiveness and cross-functional collaboration across the Risk function,
• You demonstrate knowledge of new technologies and AI-based tools in your daily work (e.g. task automation, information analysis, content creation).

Apply if you have:

• Absolute discretion and sound judgement when handling confidential matters, including incidents, regulatory issues and sensitive business information,
• Strong integrity and a reputation for acting with honesty, transparency and professionalism,
• Experience in consulting, transformation, project management, business operations or a similar strategic coordination role,
• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills,
• Strong execution discipline, including prioritisation, programme oversight, action tracking and stakeholder management,
• Experience preparing executive-level presentations, communications and governance materials,
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders, including Partners and Leadership Teams,
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English,
• Experience working in a multi-country or matrix organisational environment,
• Demonstrate proficiency in leveraging emerging technologies and AI-powered tools in your daily work.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to Risk & Quality, compliance, regulatory affairs, legal or partnership governance environments,
• Familiarity with professional services organisations,
• Practical experience using AI-enabled tools such as Copilot, Harvey or similar solutions,
• Understanding of legal, quality, independence, regulatory or client acceptance processes.
