Crypto United is a Swiss digital-asset investment manager that runs systematic, institutional-grade portfolios for professional investors. We combine a proprietary multi-source data platform with machine-learning ranking models, classical portfolio construction, fundamental research and advanced performance analytics, all within a single in-house investment engine.

The opportunity

Join Crypto United as a hands-on technical partner, with meaningful equity and a direct voice in company strategy. The codebase is tested and documented and the strategies are live: your job is to lead their evolution into an institutional-grade, multi-asset platform spanning crypto, commodities, equities and fixed income.

What you will own

• Architecture and roadmap. The data platform, research stack, optimisation engine and serving layer, and the decisions on what to build, buy or license.

• Agentic infrastructure. Agents for coding, research, data operations, monitoring and reporting, with the orchestration, evaluation, cost control and audit trail a human needs to sign off on their work.

• Machine learning, research to production. The asset-ranking and view-confidence models, and their path from notebook to production: walk-forward validation, leakage controls, experiment tracking, model registry, drift monitoring and rollback. You set the research standards.

• Data and multi-asset. Derivatives, on-chain, fundamental and macro ingestion into a point-in-time feature store with quality gates and licence compliance, and one engine serving crypto, commodities, equities and fixed income.

• Reliability, security and governance. Hybrid cloud and dedicated infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, secrets management, penetration testing, and model-risk governance to institutional and audit standards.

• Team and representation. Hiring and leading researchers and engineers as funding allows, setting an AI-native culture, and representing the firm technically to investors, clients, auditors and regulators.

What you bring

• Experience. 5+ years in quantitative research, strategy design or quantitative engineering in asset management, banking or trading, including leading people and running production systems.

• Education. A degree in finance, financial engineering, mathematics, computer science or a related field.

• Applied machine learning. Models shipped on noisy, non-stationary data (gradient boosting, ensembles, deep learning where it earns its place), with out-of-sample validation, leakage controls, monitoring and explainability.

• Quantitative finance. Proven knowledge of portfolio and risk management and of backtesting methods.

• Engineering. Expert, hands-on Python and the scientific stack (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn or gradient boosting), SQL and modern data tooling, plus cloud and bare-metal infrastructure: containers, CI/CD, orchestration, observability and security.

• Agentic AI. Expert daily use of agentic coding tools, hands-on building with LLM APIs, agent frameworks and tool integrations, and experience-backed views on where agents help and where they do not.

• Location and languages. Resident in Switzerland with an unrestricted right to work (Swiss citizenship, C permit or equivalent), and fluent English. French or German is a plus.

Additional strengths

• Multi-agent systems, LLM evaluation harnesses or agent-driven research automation.

• ML on financial data (cross-sectional forecasting, regime models, NLP on market text) and robust optimisation or factor models.

• Experience in regulated financial environments, institutional due diligence and data-vendor licensing.

• Crypto market structure, on-chain data, and digital-asset custody and execution.

• Published research, open-source work or technical writing.
