About StrangeBee 🐝
StrangeBee started in 2018 with a simple idea from the creators of TheHive and Cortex: give security teams open tools that actually help them respond to incidents. Today, TheHive is used by thousands of security analysts in 43 countries. We’re a team of 90 people across Paris, Barcelona, the US, and we’re growing the hive. Want to contribute?

How we work

  • Customer Centric: we build for real security teams facing real threats.

  • Quest for Excellence: “good enough” isn’t our standard.

  • Embrace Change: cyber moves fast, and so do we. If something could be better, say it.

  • One Team: trust, open communication and psychological safety, across titles and teams.

We’re looking for a Chief Technology & Product Officer (CTPO) to own StrangeBee’s multi-year technology and product vision and turn it into organizational clarity and reliable delivery. Based in Paris and reporting to our CEO, you’ll lead a technology organization of around 70 people through a leadership team you build: VPs who are hands-on, while you lead through them, not through individual execution. As we scale our product, our team and our ambition, and reshape our tech leadership at the top, you’ll shape the next chapter of StrangeBee.

The essentials

  • Location: Paris, hybrid (2 days a week in the office)

  • Contract: Permanent, full-time

  • Reports to: CEO

  • Salary: €180,000 base/year + Variable

What you’ll do

  • Define and drive the multi-year technology and product strategy, in close alignment with the CEO and Revenue leadership

  • Build and lead the tech executive team: VP Engineering, VP Product, VP Infrastructure & Security and Head of AI

  • Set the strategic direction for TheHive and Cortex, including scalability, security and reliability goals for enterprise customers, while your VP Engineering owns architecture and execution

  • Steer the resolution of significant technical debt and major migration projects through your VPs, with clear metrics and accountability

  • Grow our AI capability with the Head of AI: a product AI roadmap and the adoption of AI across our internal ways of working

  • Represent StrangeBee externally at industry conferences and in the security community, and contribute to our thought leadership

  • Serve as a key member of the Leadership team and Comex

What success looks like

  • First 3 months: you’ve met the teams, customers and key stakeholders, and shared a first read of our technical and organizational challenges with the CEO

  • By 6 months: a measured diagnostic of technical debt, migration and security risk; VP Engineering and VP Product onboarded with clear, non-overlapping scopes; the Head of AI role scoped and hiring underway; a multi-year roadmap agreed with the CEO and Revenue; and your direct reports’ teams able to explain the strategy in their own words and link it to their work

  • By 12 months: e.g. a stable, fully staffed tech leadership team, measurable progress on technical debt and migrations, and a first AI roadmap delivering value

What you bring

  • Experience as a CTPO, VP Engineering or equivalent executive role in a B2B software scale-up serving enterprise customers

  • Strong grounding in cybersecurity, through domain expertise or sustained exposure to security products and customers

  • You’ve scaled engineering and product organizations through rapid growth

  • You’ve led technical-debt and migration programs without halting delivery

  • A visible presence in the tech or security community

  • You’re at ease in a lean, bootstrapped environment where pragmatism matters as much as vision

  • Fluent English (our working language)

Nice to have

  • Experience in cybersecurity or B2B SaaS, especially open-source-based products

  • French useful in our Paris environment

  • Experience building AI capabilities into a product and an organization

Don’t tick every box? Apply anyway. This list is a guide, not a checklist. We care more about how you think and learn than about a perfect match.

What we offer

  • Hybrid work: 2 days in the office

  • Health insurance: coverage : tbd depending on the country

  • Equipment: laptop and setup provided

  • Team life: offsites, team events, the TheHive community

  • Benefiz health insurance, 100% employer-paid

  • Benefiz allowance of €12.62 net per day worked, usable for a wide range of expenses (restaurants, groceries, rent, electricity bills, etc.)

  • Vacation bonus

  • 25 days of paid time off

  • Additional RTT days off per the company calendar (Syntec collective agreement)

Our hiring process
We keep it transparent and respectful of your time: 5 steps, and an answer at every stage, even if it’s a no.

  1. Discovery call with the Chief People and Culture (1 hour)

  2. Interview with the CEO (1 hour)

  3. Meetings with Comex members / future direct reports (3 interviews of 1 hour)

  4. Strategic case study and presentation with CEO, HR and Chief of Staff (1.15 hour)

  5. Final fit interview with our Head of HR (30 min)

We may run a reference check before making an offer.

At StrangeBee, we hire for skills and potential. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences. If you need any adjustment during the process, just let us know.
