Overview We are a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through inclusive programs, leadership development, and community engagement. Through partnerships, volunteer networks, and strategic fundraising, we build stronger, more inclusive communities across southern Ohio. The Area Director leads operations across the Cincinnati region, owning fundraising performance, driving program growth, and serving as the visible face of the organization in southern Ohio. This role oversees signature events, builds the local donor and corporate base, manages a growing advisory board, and partners with the State Director to expand chapters and programming for individuals with IDD. This is a builder's role for a hands-on fundraiser with deep Cincinnati network and market knowledge, ready to grow the donor base, expand the advisory board, and open new chapters. Scope & Responsibilities Own all fund development for the Cincinnati market, including individual, corporate, and foundation giving, with a focus on growing and diversifying revenue Lead the Friendship Walk and Champion of the Year, including sponsor cultivation, committee management, and hands-on event execution Recruit, build, and steward a growing local advisory board and associated event committees Directly supervise and coach one Program Manager (Cincinnati-based) Partner with the Program Manager on strategy to expand the 13 existing chapters in southern Ohio and grow the adult Friendship program Collaborate with the State Director (Cleveland-based) on local strategy, budgeting, and alignment with statewide and national goals Serve as the public face of the organization across Cincinnati, including community, corporate, and media relations Qualifications Bachelor's degree or at least 4 years of relevant experience 4+ years of progressive fundraising experience, including events, donor cultivation, and corporate or foundation giving Experience leading signature fundraising events with $50K+ revenue targets Demonstrated success expanding a donor base through cultivation and stewardship Direct people management experience or clear readiness to manage a direct report Strong project management, written and verbal communication, and stakeholder engagement skills Comfortable engaging with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for events Access to reliable transportation Compensation The base pay range for this role is $60,000 – $65,000 per year.
