Civil Engineer- Life Sciences

Wood is recruiting for a Civil Engineer to join our Life Sciences division based in Milan, working on Pharmaceutical and Bio Tech projects across Europe and internationally.

The role.

As Civil Engineer, you will works in a project team and your scope of work is related to design of industrial pharmaceutical buildings covering layout arrangements for architectural and process purposes, design of concrete and steel structures, pipe racks, pharmaceutical and civil finishing, coordination of internal/external resourcing as well as selection of Contractors and follow up on site of civil and finishing works.

You will have regular interaction with the clients to keep them informed of the progress of the project, ensuring that it is on track, and to overcome any challenges that might occur.

The key objectives for this role are:

• Concept, Basic & Detail Design Engineering activities for the assigned projects
• Preparation / review of drawings (architectural layouts, door schedules, finishing schedules, sections, views, structural documents, underground installations, etc.) technical specifications (for architectural finishing and structural works) subcontract requisitions for civil/architectural works
• Coordinate discipline and external resources activities, control and forecast work area activities and deliverables against schedule
• Interface with external resources, other disciplines, departments, clients
• Provide project management support as required to projects, project managers and executives
• Work as part of a team by supporting each other, sharing workload and covering during periods of absence
• Contribute and participate to work in an enthusiastic manner, working to the requirements of quality and environmental management systems maintained to ISO standards

• MSc / BSc degree in Civil engineering
• Previous experience in a Civil engineering role of 2 years
• Experience in pharmaceutical sector is appreciated
• Knowledge of REVIT software and BIM methodology
• Knowledge of TECLA software is considered a plus
• Competencies in sustainability design
• Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams
• Demonstrated understanding of risk-based design methodologies, safe plant layout practices, quality management systems and engineering change control processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written Italian and English is a mandatory requirement
• Eligibile to work in Italy
• Availability of working on assignment at clients’ or Wood’s sites/offices, is a mandatory requirement

Compensation and compliance:

Contract & Classification

• Contract type: Permanent
• Collective Agreement (CCNL): Industria Metalmeccanica (CNEL C011)
• Job Classification level: Impiegato, consistent with role requirements and applicable CCNL

Compensation

• Gross Annual Salary: the initial gross annual salary will be € 40,000.00, paid in 14 instalments
• The compensation package will include applicable CCNL elements and company benefits
• Variable pay and additional benefits will be detailed during the selection process
