Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Claims Intake Specialist to support the setup and administration of commercial and specialty insurance claims. This role is responsible for reviewing incoming claim documentation, accurately entering claim information into multiple systems, researching missing information, and communicating with agents, insureds, and claimants to ensure claims are properly established. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys investigative and administrative work, and can maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple tasks and systems simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Set up new insurance claims and perform accurate data entry within the claims management system.
- Review claim documentation received via email and extract key information required for claim creation.
- Follow specialized handling procedures for financial lines and other specialty insurance claims.
- Investigate and resolve "problem losses" where critical information is missing, including policy numbers, claimant details, or loss information.
- Conduct outbound calls to agents, insureds, claimants, and other parties to obtain missing claim information.
- Review legal, insurance, and policy-related documentation to identify and verify required claim details.
- Navigate multiple systems, databases, and applications to gather, validate, and document claim information.
- Maintain detailed records of claim activity and ensure all actions are documented according to company standards.
- Meet productivity, quality, and accuracy expectations while handling a high volume of work.
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and incomplete information.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable performing data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong verbal communication skills and confidence making outbound calls.
- Ability to multitask across multiple systems, applications, and browser windows.
- Strong computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes.
- Experience tracking, documenting, and managing daily workload activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous insurance industry experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with commercial insurance or specialty insurance products is strongly preferred over personal lines experience.
- Familiarity with insurance terminology and claims processes.
- Experience reviewing legal, contractual, or insurance-related documents.
- Prior experience using Guidewire ClaimCenter is a strong plus.

This is a Contract position based out of Sun Prairie, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
