Position Summary: The Claims Representative provides critical support in the handling of claims across multiple lines of coverage, with an emphasis on Bodily Injury claims. This role is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving assigned claims while analyzing coverage, liability, damages, and legal issues in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate manages claims efficiently and accurately, maintains a strong focus on customer service, and builds positive working relationships with policyholders, agents, attorneys, vendors, and internal business partners to ensure timely and effective claim resolution. Primary Responsibilities: Review, analyze, and interpret policy conditions, exclusions and endorsements to resolve coverage and liability issues for assigned claims Review and evaluate claim reserves to ensure that the respective reserve properly reflects the potential exposure Investigate claims to evaluate coverage and legal issues, which may include meeting with Insureds and witnesses, and obtaining statements, records, and other evidentiary materials Provide proper documentation and reporting of investigation and claims handling activities Provide customer service to insureds and claimants throughout the claims process Negotiates and resolves claims with claimants and insureds and provides appropriate claims resolution documents Provides direction to and management of independent adjusters and other third parties retained to assist in a particular claim Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience with the following: Coverage Review – interpreting policies, agreements and disclaimers Claims Investigation – Statements, authorizations, retention of qualified experts Claims Administration – Reports, review reserves, compliance knowledge of laws and procedures Claims Settlement – Preparation of releases and proof of loss statements Must be service-oriented, with the ability to provide prompt, efficient, and effective claims and customer service Proven ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and co-workers, both internal and external Ability to clearly, accurately, and effectively communicate, both orally and in written correspondence and both internally and externally, including with our customers, claimants, and members of the public Good negotiation skills Excellent judgement and decision-making skills Benefits: Competitive salary paired with a comprehensive benefits package Generous paid time off, plus 12 paid holidays annually Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision plans Additional protection through accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance Company-paid life insurance equal to 2× annual salary Company-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage 401(k) Savings and Profit-Sharing Plan through Old Republic Ongoing education, training, and professional development opportunities Support for industry certifications and insurance designations, including financial assistance Flexible scheduling with a two-hour window for start and end times within a 7.5-hour workday Opportunities to give back through corporate philanthropy and community service initiatives Optional benefits including travel, commuter, and pet insurance Employee wellness support through a dedicated fitness program
