Role Description The Claude Code Systems Builder is a full-time hybrid role based in Dunedin, with flexibility for some work from home. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining AI and automation solutions using Claude and related toolchains, from proof-of-concept through to production-ready systems. Day-to-day work includes scoping client requirements, building prompt and workflow architectures, integrating Claude with data pipelines, APIs, and internal tools, and iterating on systems based on performance metrics and user feedback. The role involves close collaboration with consultants and clients to translate business processes into robust AI-assisted workflows, ensure reliable deployment on client infrastructure, and document solutions for maintainability and handover. The Claude Code Systems Builder will also contribute to internal best practices, reusable components, and experimentation with new AI capabilities to improve service offerings.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in AI systems design and prompt engineering, including building structured workflows, designing Claude-based agents, and optimizing interactions for reliability and performance.
• Skills in software engineering and integration, such as scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript), working with APIs and webhooks, and connecting AI systems to existing data sources and business applications would be an advantage.
• Beneficial qualifications include experience with on-premise or hybrid deployments, familiarity with security and privacy best practices, and a background in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
