Role Description This is a full-time Client Accountant role based in Saint Julian’s, Malta, offered on a hybrid basis with some flexibility to work from home. The Client Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of local and international clients, including recording transactions, posting journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing invoices, reconciling accounts, assisting with management accounts, and supporting the preparation of financial statements in line with applicable standards. The role involves using accounting software to process data efficiently, monitoring client accounts, handling customer follow-ups on outstanding documentation or payments, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of services. The Client Accountant will also support tax compliance tasks, contribute to process improvements, and provide clear, professional communication to clients.

Qualifications

  • Strong accounting and finance skills, including experience with general ledger work, reconciliations, and basic financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and systems, with the ability to learn new tools and use them efficiently.
  • Experience in invoicing, billing, and monitoring receivables to ensure accurate and timely client charging.
  • Ability to manage customer follow-up in a professional manner, maintaining clear records and building positive client relationships.
  • Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Good understanding of Malta accounting, tax, or corporate services frameworks, or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Maltese or other languages is beneficial.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing multiple client deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a corporate services, fiduciary, or professional services firm is considered an advantage.
