About the role

Do you speak fluent data, from pipelines and warehouses to dashboards and models, and love the idea of turning that knowledge into the perfect team for a client? This is your chance to be the technical expert behind every data match we make.

As a Client Engineer (Data), you'll be part of our client teams. You'll be the technical voice in front of clients and the person who decides which data professionals are right for them.

Technical discovery: Run discovery calls with clients to understand their data landscape: stack, architecture, data maturity, team setup and business goals. Turn what you learn into a sharp role profile with the right skills, seniority and scope.

Matching: Search and shortlist Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists and ML Engineers from the Proxify network. Interview them to assess technical depth and fit with the client's context.

Candidate presentation: Write clear, convincing pitches that explain why each candidate fits, and support the client through interviews and decisions.

Client advisory: Act as a trusted technical advisor. Challenge requirements when needed, and help clients shape roles that will actually solve their data problems.

Collaboration: Work closely with Client Managers and Account Managers to meet client needs, keep timelines tight and grow long-term partnerships.

Client focus: Startups, scaleups and enterprise companies building or scaling their data, analytics and AI capabilities.

What you bring to be successful in this role

- 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Data Scientist or in a similar data role.

- Solid understanding of the modern data stack: SQL, Python, Spark, dbt, Airflow, and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or Redshift.

- Working knowledge of at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP).

- Ability to quickly read a client's data challenge and translate it into the right skills, seniority and profile.

- Confidence to run technical interviews and judge candidates across data engineering, analytics and ML.

- Strong ownership mindset with a bias for action and high quality.

- Naturally curious, sociable and comfortable in client-facing conversations.

- A humble team player who thrives in a performance-oriented environment.

- Native-level English.

Bonus points: experience in consulting, solutions engineering, technical recruiting or pre-sales; exposure to MLOps, data governance or GenAI/LLM projects; additional languages (e.g. German, Swedish, French or Spanish).
