Client Manager

We're a remote-first virtual finance function for growing product businesses: eCommerce, wholesale and retail, the kind with real inventory complexity across multiple channels. We're hiring a Client Manager to own a portfolio of these clients end to end.

This is a management and relationship role first. You lead a small pod of accountants and bookkeepers who do the day-to-day work; you review it, hold the quality line, and are the person your clients actually trust. When the work calls for it, you're more than capable of getting into the Xero file yourself, but your value is judgement and ownership, not doing everything personally.

You'll own:

• A portfolio of clients, with retention as your primary measure of success
• A pod of intermediate accountants and bookkeepers whose work you review and stand behind
• On-time, on-quality delivery of monthly accounts, BAS and recurring work
• Proactive client relationships, so no one ever has to chase you
• Early spotting of risks and opportunities, bringing in our Advisory team where deeper support fits

You'll bring:

• CA or CPA (qualified or in the final stages). Non-negotiable
• 3+ years in accounting with direct client contact
• Genuine, hands-on Xero and accounting SaaS skills
• Command of AU compliance (BAS, income tax, ASIC)
• Ideally, experience with inventory and product businesses (COGS, stock, multi-channel reconciliation, Shopify/Amazon/3PL into Xero). If you don't have it but can learn fast, still talk to us

This isn't for someone who wants to be heads-down in the numbers all day with no client or team responsibility. It's also not for someone who wants to manage without ever touching a file again. It's the middle: a strong accountant who'd rather lead the work and own the relationship.
