Clinical Business Analyst (Patient Access)

We are seeking a Clinical Business Analyst Patient Access to support a public sector health system's modernization initiative focused on standardizing and implementing a unified clinical information system across multiple acute care facilities. This role is central to transforming how patient access, registration, and scheduling processes are designed and delivered. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering business requirements, facilitating stakeholder engagement, conducting gap analysis, and developing comprehensive design documentation that enables clinical teams and IT to align on standards and implementation approaches.

This position requires someone who can lead requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, and business process analysis to support the standardization and implementation of patient access workflows in a large-scale clinical information system project. The role encompasses conducting detailed design activities, building and validating clinical content, and maintaining close working relationships with clinical stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project teams. The successful candidate will work with healthcare providers to identify and articulate business requirements, develop use cases and user stories, and create process documentation including workflows, user guides, and training materials. This is a full-time position with a mixture of steady state and project-based efforts, and some after-hours and weekend work may be required with advance approval.

Qualifications

• 5+ years - Clinical Business Analyst or Clinical Informatics Analyst experience in Patient Access (Registration and Scheduling) requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design activities, and business analysis documentation
• 5+ years - acute care Health Information Systems (EHR/CIS) and healthcare operations experience as it relates to Patient Access (Registration and Scheduling)
• 3+ years - Business Analyst or Clinical Informatics Analyst experience in health information systems or CIS implementation projects in a large-scale acute care healthcare system with direct Patient Access (Registration and Scheduling) focus
• University degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of applicable education and experience

Nice to Have

• 6+ years - Clinical Business Analyst experience in Patient Access (Registration and Scheduling) requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design activities, and business analysis documentation in computerized provider order entry (CPOE), order sets, clinical documentation, or ancillary services (Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Laboratory)
• 3+ years - facilitation skills and demonstrated experience leading workshops with healthcare providers to identify and articulate business requirements, system requirements, and develop user stories or use cases
• 5+ years - working with high self-direction, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to confidently engage and collaborate with project team members, subject matter experts, and stakeholders at all levels
• 5+ years - demonstrated ability to multi-task and work with multiple teams supporting more than one project stream or activity at a time
• 5+ years - knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams) and Atlassian JIRA software in a project or work environment
• Verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills in French and English
• Previous experience working within public health authorities with strong understanding of public healthcare landscape, policies, and practices
