THE OPPORTUNITY
Help Shape the Future of Structural Heart Therapy
Are you passionate about leveraging your imaging expertise to guide groundbreaking transcatheter therapies? Do you thrive in high-pressure clinical environments where your technical guidance directly impacts physician education, procedural success, and patient care?
We are seeking a Clinical Development Senior Specialist to join our Clinical Field team. Reporting directly to the VP of Therapy Development, you will serve as a technical expert for intraprocedural echocardiographic guidance during AltaValve TMVR procedures across active clinical trial sites.
In this high-visibility, hands-on role, you will lead procedural imaging optimization, refine imaging protocols, and train physicians and sonographers to ensure high-quality execution and data integrity in our clinical trials.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Provide Real-Time Procedural & Imaging Guidance
· Offer expert, real-time imaging guidance and technical support during live TMVR procedures to optimize device positioning, orientation, and deployment.
· Navigate high-pressure procedural environments (cath labs, hybrid ORs) to troubleshoot complex imaging challenges using sound clinical judgment.
· Conduct post-procedure reviews and analyze data trends to maintain imaging quality assurance and trial compliance.
Collaborate Across R&D & Clinical Operations
· Partner closely with R&D engineering teams to integrate clinical imaging feedback directly into next-generation device development and workflow improvements.
· Ensure imaging data quality, protocol compliance, and data integrity aligned with regulatory standards for clinical trials.
· Demonstrate strong ownership, adaptability, and time management while managing multiple competing clinical priorities.
Develop & Refine Imaging Protocols
· Create, update, and maintain standardized procedural imaging protocols to ensure clinical consistency and quality across all stages.
· Create educational resources, comprehensive imaging-focused training materials, and competency assessments for clinical site teams.
· Continuously translate clinical and imaging insights into procedural, product, and process improvements.
Lead Procedural Training & Site Assessment
· Provide hands-on education and training to physicians, sonographers, and site clinical teams on utilizing echocardiographic imaging for device deployment.
· Evaluate site imaging capabilities, recommend necessary equipment or process enhancements, and support patient screening through detailed imaging reviews.
· Build strong, collaborative relationships with clinical trial sites and study personnel through clear communication and responsiveness.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Required Qualifications
· Education: Associate degree in Cardiovascular Sonography Technology.
· Experience: 5+ years of cardiac imaging experience, with at least 2 years focused in structural heart interventions.
· Echocardiography Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) in interventional settings (cath lab / hybrid OR).
· Structural Heart Knowledge: Demonstrated technical expertise in transcatheter mitral valve procedures or similar structural heart interventions.
· Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in advanced echocardiographic principles, 3D imaging, and image optimization techniques.
· Travel & Schedule Availability: Ability to travel up to 70% (domestic and international) to clinical sites and training events, with flexibility for extended or off-hours as clinical cases dictate.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (or related technical field), Nursing, or Medical Imaging.
· Certification: RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) credential.
· Multimodality cardiac imaging experience (CT, MRI, angiography).
· Working knowledge of FDA regulatory guidelines governing clinical trial conduct.
· Proven experience developing training materials and presenting product Instructions for Use (IFU) to physicians and hospital administration.
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART (Competencies)
You are a skilled clinical expert who thrives under pressure and takes pride in guiding interventional teams through complex procedures. You possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with an innate ability to make timely, sound decisions during live clinical cases. You communicate effectively with physicians, sonographers, and cross-functional engineering teams, combining clinical authority with a collaborative, customer-service mindset.
If you are excited to leverage your echo expertise to advance transformative TMVR technology and elevate physician training, we’d love to hear from you!
