We are currently building Gentle Steps—a specialized online therapy platform engineered for grief, loss, and traumatic bereavement. Gentle Steps provides a safe, dedicated digital space where individuals and families can process profound loss and honor their loved ones on their own timeline.

The Opportunity

As we prepare to launch, we are seeking our Founding Clinical Expert (LCSW, LPC, LMFT). This is a unique opportunity to shape the clinical foundation of a platform built to redefine specialized grief support at scale.

Role Summary

• Title: Clinical Telehealth Therapist – Grief & Trauma Care
• Type: Full-time (Hybrid — Remote flexibility with occasional in-office collaboration in Abuja)
• Core Responsibilities:
• Deliver evidence-informed individual and family telehealth therapy focused on grief, trauma, and bereavement.
• Conduct clinical assessments, create tailored treatment plans, and maintain meticulous case documentation.
• Provide psychoeducation, crisis intervention, and care coordination with internal and external providers.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and collaborate with our engineering and design teams to align clinical standards with our secure digital environment.
• Partner with leadership as a pioneer clinician to help shape clinical protocols, platform features, and provider community guidelines.

Qualifications

• Clinical Expertise: Proven background in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling with a strong specialization in grief, trauma, and family systems.
• Licensure: Relevant degree required; licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) or immediate eligibility is strongly preferred.
• Telehealth & Digital Competency: Experience delivering therapy via secure telehealth platforms, with a strict commitment to data security and client confidentiality.
• Case Management: Solid experience coordinating care resources, managing client caseloads, and handling clinical documentation.
• Cultural Sensitivity: Dedication to ethical, non-discriminatory, and culturally competent care.
• Location: Must be based in or near Abuja to accommodate a hybrid workflow.
