Job Description

As a Cloud Architect, you will provide technical leadership for our cloud infrastructure, platform engineering and security architecture. You will lead a team of Cloud and Security engineers, define the cloud roadmap, and ensure our platforms are secure, scalable, reliable and cost-effective. This role partners closely with engineering, security and data teams to drive cloud-native adoption and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure for machine learning workflows, including data storage and bespoke frameworks supporting the BRIX platform.
• Develop and implement automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure regular, reliable deployment of models into production using containerization tools to manage and package devices.
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions to maintain high availability and performance of machine learning models, applications, and cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute to automation efforts for infrastructure processes, including configuration management and provisioning to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
• Support Brambles' Serialization and Asset Digitization programs by setting up and maintaining IoT and Edge platforms, ensuring seamless integration with cloud services.
• Ensure best practices in version control and documentation processes, contributing to the clarity and standardization of cloud operations.
• Research and implement best practices for cloud infrastructure management, such as GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), enhancing the team's capabilities.
• Mentor and support the Cloud Engineering team by sharing knowledge and staying up to date on emerging cloud technologies, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and govern scalable, highly available and cost-efficient cloud architectures supported by clear documentation and standards.
• Lead cloud security architecture, embedding Zero Trust, encryption, policy-as-code and compliance controls across all environments.
• Evaluate, onboard and standardise cloud technologies and platforms across Kubernetes, data, and CI/CD ecosystems.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/GitOps) and automation standards across cloud, containerised and serverless platforms.
• Establish monitoring, logging, tracing, and reliability practices to ensure platform health and operational excellence.
• Lead and mentor a team of Cloud and Security Engineers, fostering technical excellence and DevSecOps best practices.

Key Performance Measures

• Well-Architected Infrastructure: Maintain high availability, cost efficiency and resilience across public cloud environments.
• Secure Design Principles: Achieve zero critical security drift through automated policy enforcement, shift-left security, and compliance readiness.

Required Skills & Experience

• Professional Exp : 7+ years of experience in Cloud, DevOps, and Infrastructure Engineering, with proven team management and technical leadership experience. Hands-on expertise in Databricks for unified data analytics and processing.
• Cloud & IaC : Proven expertise in architecting and operating large-scale, multi-tenant cloud environments on AWS, with exposure to Azure and GCP considered a plus. Extensive experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and driving automated deployments through GitOps-based delivery models.
• Containers & Orchestration : Extensive experience architecting and operating production-grade Kubernetes (EKS) environments.
• Security & Networking : Deep understanding of software security, Identity Federation (OIDC/SAML, Okta), zero-trust architecture, PKI/certificates, and network encryption.
• Systems & Data Architecture : Strong knowledge of distributed systems, real-time data pipelines (Kafka, CDC), data warehousing, and client-server architectures.
• Soft Skills : Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of driving cross-functional alignment.

Education & Qualification : Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Engineering, or a Master’s in Computer Applications/Science preferred.

• Emerging Tech Adoption: Stay ahead of fast-evolving tools in the DevOps, AI security, and cloud domains, identifying high-traction technologies early for strategic integration.
• Tooling Selection: Balance cutting-edge technical capability with long-term maintainability when selecting tools to add to the stack.
