Cloud Consulting Architect (GCP) at BairesDev

In this role, you'll bring a strong consulting mindset to an AI-driven mainframe modernization practice, where legacy COBOL systems are converted into specs and regenerated in Java, Go, or .NET on GCP. Beyond technical architecture skills, you'll bring the client-facing communication that helps stakeholders understand why mainframe systems are critical from a business perspective. This is your opportunity to work in a true project-based, client-facing delivery environment, embedded within teams that own the backlog, delivery process, and client relationships end to end.

What You'll Do:

- Lead client-facing architecture engagements as part of application modernization projects.

- Re-architect legacy and mainframe-class systems into modern cloud platforms targeting Java, Go, or .NET.

- Communicate with client stakeholders to translate technical modernization into business value.

- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP-based environment.

What we are looking for:

- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture with GCP.

- Consulting or professional services background with project-based, client-facing delivery experience.

- Proven experience in application modernization, re-architecting legacy or mainframe-class systems into Java, Go, or .NET on modern cloud platforms.

- Strong background in data architecture on GCP including BigQuery and data pipeline design.

- Experience with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec-driven design.

- Strong requirements gathering skills.

- Experience with test-driven design.

- Advanced proficiency in English.

Nice to have:

- Mainframe or COBOL domain familiarity.

- Experience with DORA metrics.

- QA discipline and practices.
