Join ICF as a Cloud Data Migration Specialist and play a key role in onboarding federal grant programs onto GrantLens, a large-scale Salesforce-based Grants Management application. You will lead end-to-end data migration activities, working with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, Salesforce Architects, and Developers to assess legacy data, develop migration strategies, define source-to-target mappings, and execute accurate and reliable data conversions.

You will leverage your expertise in data modeling, ETL, and Salesforce data migration to transform complex legacy data into a structured, reliable format that supports GrantLens business processes. From initial data assessment through production migration and validation, you will ensure data integrity, quality, and successful onboarding of programs onto the platform.

Job Location: This position is fully remote within the U.S., with occasional travel to the client’s Washington, D.C. office. Must support US Eastern time zone working hours.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead end-to-end data migration activities, including source data assessment, migration planning, extraction, transformation, loading, and validation.
  • Analyze source and target data models, data structures, relationships, dependencies, and data quality.
  • Develop and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documents, data dictionaries, and transformation rules.
  • Leverage ETL tools, SQL, and Salesforce data migration utilities to cleanse, transform, and load data.
  • Manage Salesforce data dependencies, including object relationships, external IDs, record ownership, and parent-child relationships.
  • Conduct mock conversions, troubleshoot migration issues, and refine migration processes prior to production deployment.
  • Execute production migrations and perform data reconciliation and post-migration validation.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate migrated data, resolve discrepancies, and obtain formal sign-off.
  • Maintain migration documentation, runbooks, validation reports, and issue logs.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise data migration, data conversion, ETL development, or data integration.
  • 3+ years of experience with data modeling, relational databases, and complex data relationships.
  • 3+ years of experience planning and executing end-to-end data migrations into Salesforce.
  • 2+ years of experience with Salesforce Data Loader, Salesforce Inspector, Workbench, Salesforce APIs, or similar migration utilities.
  • 2+ years of experience with ETL tools and technologies for data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading.
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL, developing queries and scripts for data profiling, transformation, and validation.
  • 2+ years of experience developing Source-to-Target Mapping documentation and managing data quality, reconciliation, and migration exceptions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Salesforce Public Sector Solutions (PSS), Service Cloud, or other enterprise Salesforce applications.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture, including standard/custom objects, lookup and master-detail relationships, and external IDs.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ETL platforms such as Informatica, Talend, MuleSoft, Azure Data Factory, or SSIS.
  • Experience with Salesforce Bulk API and large-volume data migration techniques.
  • Experience automating data migration, validation, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience developing migration cutover plans, rollback procedures, and production migration runbooks.
  • Experience supporting federal government or other complex enterprise data migration initiatives.
  • Familiarity with FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST security and compliance requirements.
  • Relevant Salesforce or data management certifications.
