What you'll do

As a member of the Cloud IT team, you will contribute to the design, architecture, procurement, and end to end deployment in mixed environment of Linux and Windows with a primary emphasis in Linux both on-prem and in public cloud providers. Your duties will cover a large array of tasks from installing server operating systems to designing and implementing Linux focused enterprise level applications and clusters. You will be tasked with the support of Linux and some Windows operating systems. These tasks could include installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of servers and applications The ideal candidate will have a strong systems administration background focusing on Linux, with scripting and automation experience.

The day-to-day

• Provide subject matter expertise to project, delivery teams and IT Operations unit.
• Contribute to the implementation of proactive infrastructure security features, patches, and upgrades using an Infrastructure-As-Code approach to achieve secure, stable, and reliable services.
• Actively lead in the development and establishment of cloud services capabilities encompassing CloudOps / DevOps practices.
• Document infrastructure and work instructions for systems and applications hosted under Cloud stacks
• Provide leadership and knowledge sharing across the team to support the ongoing development of cross team operational support functions.
• Review and oversee platform enhancements.
• Execute implementations to tight deadlines, working well both independently and as part of a team.
• Taking ownership of projects gaining a personal satisfaction in achieving high performing environments.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff and the business.
• Govern our technologies to ensure security standards are met.
• Working in a DevOps capacity with a desire to automate everything

What you'll need

• Technical expertise in Cloud Engineering role focusing on Amazon Cloud Services (AWS).
• Proven track record of overseeing IT/Cloud service delivery.
• Strong infrastructure background (Linux/Windows) and hands on exposure to Cloud and automation technologies.
• Hands-on Automation experience leveraging tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef Etc.

What will help you on the job

• Professional scripting experience with languages such as PowerShell, Python, and BASH.
• Continuous Integration/Delivery/Deployment & amp; Orchestration - Jenkins or one of its variant.
• Experience with virtualization and containerization - VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, VirtualBox, Kubernetes
• Sound knowledge and experience in creating platforms using Kubernetes, EKS, OpenShift.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace.
• Experience with log management tools such as ELK.
• AWS certification is highly preferred plus Vendor certifications from Red Hat, Microsoft etc.

Salary range

$121,000.00 - $191,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $150,000.00- $225,000.00/ annually
