Job Description:
The FinOps Sr. Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations and analysis, ensuring accurate financial data and assisting with financial reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial principles. The ideal candidate is a proactive and results-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
This role is pivotal in managing, optimizing, and forecasting our cloud spend across multi-cloud providers. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of cloud cost management, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. Help maintain accurate financial records and resolve any discrepancies.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within financial operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor and analyze cloud expenditures across multi-cloud environment.
- Implement cost-saving strategies and best practices to optimize cloud spend.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide visibility into cloud costs.
- Assist in budget planning and forecasting for cloud expenses.
- Provide detailed cost analysis and financial modeling to support decision-making.
- Identify and recommend cost optimization opportunities, such as right-sizing, reserved instances, and autoscaling.
- Continuously track and report on the effectiveness of cost-saving measures.
- Develop and enforce cloud cost management policies and governance frameworks.
- Leverage FinOps tools and platforms to automate and streamline cost management processes.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1- 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a financial analysis or operations role.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Proven experience with main the CSP (Cloud Service Providers), especially in Azure and GCP cost management tools and services.
- Proficiency in cloud cost management tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Cloudability, AWS Cost Explorer, etc.).
- Knowledge of scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) as a plus
- Knowledge and experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting as nice to have.
