Job Description:
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about building resilient, high-performance cloud environments?
As our Cloud Operations Lead, you will be the guardian of operational excellence for Mars' global hybrid and multi-cloud landscape. Based in Warsaw, you will take ownership of incident prevention, crisis recovery, and continuous operational modernization across Azure, AWS, GCP, and on-premises systems.
Collaborating closely with our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), technical platform owners, and strategic managed service partners, you will champion a proactive, automation-first culture that ensures our global operations run smoothly 24/7/365.
What You’ll Do (Your Impact)
1. Champion Global Infrastructure Reliability
End-to-End Visibility: Oversee the operational health, performance, and availability of multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) alongside foundational on-premises infrastructure.
Proactive Observability: Implement state-of-the-art monitoring and telemetry tools to anticipate capacity bottlenecks and resolve performance degradations before they impact the business.
Smart Capacity Planning: Forecast future workload demands, partnering with architecture teams to proactively scale resources and tooling efficiently.
2. Lead Incident Prevention & Crisis Resolution
Crisis Leadership: Serve as the regional escalation authority for major infrastructure incidents during your time zone, collaborating seamlessly in a global "follow-the-sun" model.
Continuous Learning: Facilitate constructive Post-Incident Reviews (PIRs) and retrospectives, turning unexpected disruptions into long-term architectural improvements and preventative measures.
Governance & Safeguards: Act as the trusted approval authority for critical changes, elevated access requests, and environment promotions to minimize downtime risk.
3. Drive Automation & Operational Rigor
Automate Everything: Champion automated workflows and modern scripting to eliminate manual toil across provisioning, patching, backup routines, and routine maintenance.
ITSM Excellence: Spearhead robust, pragmatic IT service management practices (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration/CMDB, and Disaster Recovery drills).
Security & Compliance: Partner with security champions to enforce least-privilege access, monitor potential vulnerabilities, and uphold enterprise compliance benchmarks across all cloud estates.
4. Partner & Elevate Third-Party Delivery
Vendor Collaboration: Lead regular service reviews and operational rhythms with external managed service providers and cloud engineering teams.
Technical Guidance: Provide clear direction, foster vendor capability and autonomy, and ensure partners deliver to Mars’ high standards of quality and efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
Core Requirements
Proven IT Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience across enterprise platforms, infrastructure, or cloud engineering.
Multi-Cloud Proficiency: Solid operational knowledge of at least two major public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), paired with a firm grasp of core compute, network, and storage fundamentals.
Crisis & Incident Composure: Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex distributed systems and coordinating technical teams through major incidents.
Pragmatic Leadership: Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge conversations between technical engineers, vendor partners, and business stakeholders.
Security-First Mindset: Practical experience managing access control, identity governance, and foundational cloud security principles
Bonus Points (Desirable)
Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate / Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps / Solutions Architect, or GCP Cloud Engineer).
Established background working with modern ITSM frameworks (ITIL) and enterprise observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, Azure Monitor).
Experience partnering with external Managed Service Providers (MSPs) in a global matrix environment.
What You Can Expect From Mars
Competitive Reward: Industry-competitive base compensation along with an attractive annual bonus and comprehensive local benefits package.
Flexibility & Harmony: Hybrid working arrangements that blend remote flexibility with vibrant, collaborative office days in Warsaw.
Real Career Progression: Broad development opportunities across Mars Digital Technologies, enterprise architecture, and global leadership pathways.
Values-Led Culture: An inclusive, supportive environment driven by mutuality and freedom, where your voice and ideas are genuinely valued.
