Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CMDB Administrator II to develop, govern, and continuously improve
the organization's Configuration Management Database within HaloITSM. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate configuration item data, strengthening CMDB governance, managing service and asset relationships, leading Discovery and Service Mapping initiatives, and improving the quality and reliability of information used across IT Service Management processes.

This position serves as a technical resource for CMDB administration, Discovery and Service Mapping, HaloITSM platform support, asset lifecycle management, reporting, automation, and continual service improvement. The role partners closely with infrastructure, networking, security, endpoint management, application support, and service desk teams to maintain data quality, improve service visibility, and advance CMDB maturity across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and continuously improve the HaloITSM Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Develop and maintain CMDB governance standards, including configuration item (CI) classification, naming conventions, relationship models, lifecycle processes, and data quality controls.
  • Create and maintain configuration items, CI relationships, service dependencies, and service mappings within HaloITSM.
  • Lead Discovery and Service Mapping initiatives to improve visibility into infrastructure and service dependencies.
  • Identify, reconcile, and remediate CMDB data discrepancies, duplicate records, ownership gaps, and configuration drift.
  • Perform recurring audits, normalization activities, and data quality reviews to ensure CMDB accuracy and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics that provide visibility into asset relationships, service dependencies, lifecycle status, and operational health.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, application, endpoint, and service desk teams to maintain accurate configuration and asset data.
  • Support Change Management processes by validating CI relationships, service impacts, and dependency mappings.
  • Serve as a secondary resource for HaloITSM administration, supporting platform configuration, workflows, forms, automation, notifications, service catalogs, permissions, and operational continuity.
  • Support HaloITSM integrations, platform updates, automation initiatives, API-based data flows, testing, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.
  • Support asset lifecycle management, inventory validation, reconciliation activities, and alignment of configuration and asset data across enterprise systems and endpoint management platforms.
  • Partner with other IS teams to improve data quality, automation, service management processes, and overall platform effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Configuration Management, Asset Management, IT Service Management (ITSM), Systems Administration, or a related IT discipline.
  • Experience administering CMDB, asset management, or ITSM platforms, preferably HaloITSM or a comparable enterprise solution.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL practices, including Configuration Management, Change Management, Asset Management, Incident Management, and Request Fulfillment.
  • Experience with configuration items, CI relationships, service dependencies, lifecycle management, data reconciliation, and CMDB governance principles.
  • Experience supporting ITSM workflows, platform administration, reporting, process improvement, and operational support activities.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell, automation, scripting, APIs, or related technologies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies including Windows, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, and SCCM.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
  • Experience implementing or maturing CMDB governance frameworks, data quality standards, service mapping, or dependency modeling.
  • Experience supporting HaloITSM administration, integrations, automation, or platform configuration.
  • Experience with Discovery and Service Mapping technologies.
  • Knowledge of enterprise asset lifecycle management, endpoint management, compliance reporting, vulnerability management, and asset discovery practices.

Our anticipated pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually. At Third Federal, we’re committed to transparency throughout the hiring process. The pay range listed is based on relevant market data, role responsibilities, and skills required for the position. Individual pay will be thoughtfully determined by a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors.
