We're seeking a Engineering Project Coordinator co-op to join our Ottawa, ON or Calgary, AB team winter 2027. This is a great opportunity for a student who is interested in gaining hands-on experience supporting engineering projects and learning how engineering teams coordinate technical information, materials, documentation, and project deliverables throughout the product development lifecycle.
Working alongside engineers, project teams, suppliers, and other internal stakeholders, you will gain exposure to engineering coordination, procurement, product data management, configuration management, and project execution in a collaborative technical environment.
In this role you can expect to:
- Support engineering teams with the coordination of technical information, materials, equipment, and engineering deliverables.
- Assist with procurement activities by reviewing requirements, coordinating RFQs, and tracking materials needed to support engineering work.
- Maintain engineering parts, bills of material (BOMs), and product structures within PDM/PLM systems.
- Review engineering documentation and requests for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with established processes and requirements.
- Support configuration management, engineering changes, export compliance, and equipment tracking activities.
- Work with engineers, project teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and keep engineering activities moving forward.
- Track project schedules, milestones, action items, and deliverables, and communicate updates to the engineering team.
- Participate in technical meetings, capture key decisions and actions, and follow up on assigned activities.
- Assist with engineering reviews, milestone activities, and program deliverables while gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain engineering reports, trackers, and documentation to support effective project execution.
What You Need to Have to Succeed
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering, or a STEM post-secondary program.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Comfortable working with technical information and learning new engineering processes and systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to follow established processes while also identifying and communicating gaps or outstanding actions.
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems, procurement, material management, or project coordination would be an asset.

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
Compensation
The expected hourly rate for this position is $24.92 - $33.23. Final compensation will be determined based on your relevant work experience to date. As part of student placement, you will be eligible for quarterly pay increases.
