Your mission

What will you do?

• Understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions and clear project documentation.

• Estimate implementation effort based on business requirements.

• Prepare technical documentation based on business analysis.

• Support other colleagues to understand technical aspects of the application.

• Implement agreed solution using Smart/400 development environment, COBOL programming language and DB2 database, considering internal standards and guidelines.

• Execute unit and local testing for your implementations and perform peer code reviews.

• Identify appropriate solution changes, update the technical documentation and supplement the test plan with relevant scenarios.

• Promote application changes across implementation environments(multiple non-production environments and preparation for production environment)

• Support implementation teams and colleagues from involved departments during testing and provide production support when issues cannot be resolved by the support team.

What will you bring?

• Strong design and programming skills in COBOL, AS/400, Control Language (CL) and related AS/400 server-side technologies. 

• Hands-on experience with SMART/400 development tools and the AS/400 platform. 

• Experience with DB2 databases. 

• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements understanding, application or system analysis and design, development, testing and deployment. 

• Experience working in an Agile environment. 

• Experience in the insurance domain is considered an advantage. 

• Good verbal and written communication skills in English. 

• A responsible, autonomous and solution-oriented approach, with a strong interest in developing your technical skills. 

• You use your curiosity and automation tools (including AI) to make change work and constantly improve the way we work.

• You communicate with empathy, clarity and impact.

• You work well in a team and support others.

• You proactively identify opportunities for improvement and come up with initiative.

The monthly salary range for this role is between 15,435 and 22,050 Gross RON. This interval is indicative. The final benefits package will be agreed at the final stage of the recruitment process, taking into account different criteria, such as the level of experience and skills. The final salary will remain confidential, according to the legislation in force and we reserve the right to adjust the offer at any time during the recruitment process.
