HypnoBond Private is moving into the next stage of research and validation, and I’m looking for someone with a strong research background to work with me on the behavioural and cognitive side of what we are developing.
At HP, I’m exploring what happens when we move from one demand, task or environment into another. What happens to our attention during these transitions? How much of what came before continues into what comes next? And is there a particular moment when an intervention may be most useful?
I’m particularly interested in hearing from people with a background in cognitive psychology, experimental psychology, cognitive science or human factors.
Research or experience in any of these areas would be especially relevant:
- Attention and attentional control
- Task switching
- Cognitive control
- Event segmentation / event boundaries
- Interruptions and interruption timing
- Transitions between tasks or environments
- Recovery and psychological detachment
- Experimental design and behavioural measurement
What I’m looking for
I’m not looking for someone to prove that HP is right. Quite the opposite.
I want someone who will look critically at what I have observed so far, help separate what is already supported by established research from what remains an HP hypothesis, question where our assumptions may be wrong, and help turn the most interesting questions into something we can properly test.
Initially, this would involve reviewing the HP framework and observations gathered so far, identifying the most relevant existing research, helping refine the questions and measures, and contributing to the design of the next real-world pilots.
A PhD, postdoctoral research background or equivalent applied research experience would be very relevant, but I’m much more interested in the relevance and quality of your work than where you are based or what title you hold.
The work is remote and would initially be a paid project-based collaboration, with the possibility of continuing if there is a good fit.
