SUMMARY: Monitor business customer accounts for timely payments and review pending orders for adherence to company credit policy. Assists customer in finding solutions to resolve delinquent obligations and minimize risk of loss to the company. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Review accounts to identify past due accounts. Communicate with customers via phone, e-mail, or written correspondence to collect past due payments utilizing company collection policy and procedures as required. Work with customer and internal contacts to resolve account discrepancies. Review and release or hold pending customer orders per Company guidelines. Regular attendance and compliance with the Company’s handbook policies and procedures. Remote employees must report to the office upon request as needed based on business necessity, such as for meetings, training, technical issues, power outages, etc. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer satisfaction. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Strong communication skills with the ability to control conversation, convey ideas and support customer and company needs. Use logic and reasoning to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and the Internet are an integral part of the job. Accounting skills related to accounts receivable, payable, credits, and debits. Use basic mathematics to solve problems. Alpha and numeric data entry skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sitting at a desk, using a computer keyboard and mouse and viewing a computer screen for long periods of time. Lifting up to 10 pounds. Listening and speaking utilizing a headset. Reaching, twisting, bending, grasping, and pinching as relates to working in an office environment. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoor, climate-controlled work environment with individual cubicle space. Muted background noise of co-worker conversations. POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Scheduled Hours are set, but may be in-between the times of 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Seasonal overtime and Saturday hours may be required. This position allows for remote work opportunities once on-site training period is successfully completed. TRAVEL: No travel is required for this position. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school Diploma or GED. Previous experience in an accounting, collections, or accounts receivable role. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree in accounting. Experience dealing with customers face to face or utilizing a phone.
