About Us

There’s something special about working for a company like Macquarie Telecom. We’re not the biggest in the industry, where you’re just a number. We’re not tiny enough that you’ve never heard of us. We’re in that sweet spot where we’re strong enough to punch above our weight. And we definitely do! Because of this, you have the opportunity to make a difference.

The Opportunity

Join Macquarie Telecom’s Commercial team as a Commercial Analyst and play a key role in shaping the commercial performance of our Telecom business.

This is more than a reporting role. You’ll own the rolling forecast and month-end close, turn financial results into meaningful commercial insight, and provide the modelling and analysis that supports decisions across pricing, products, vendors and strategic initiatives.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Product, Operations, Finance and Commercial teams to understand what is driving performance, identify risks and opportunities, and help shape what comes next.

With Macquarie Telecom investing heavily in AI and automation, you’ll also have the opportunity to apply emerging technology to improve the quality, speed and efficiency of commercial analysis — building valuable skills for a broader commercial career.

Based in Sydney, you’ll report to the Commercial Manager, with exposure to senior commercial leadership and a passionate team focused on making a difference.

About You

  • 3–5 years’ experience in finance, commercial or analytical roles, ideally within telecommunications or a similar commercial environment
  • Strong experience across forecasting, budgeting, financial modelling and month-end
  • Commercially curious — you naturally ask why the numbers have moved and what should be done about it
  • Confident working with large datasets and translating financial information into clear, actionable insights
  • Comfortable building and reviewing business cases and constructively challenging assumptions
  • Strong stakeholder skills, with the ability to communicate financial outcomes to non-finance audiences
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills, including forecasting and scenario analysis
  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification is desirable, but not essential
  • Experience with AI, automation, SQL or Power BI is advantageous
  • Someone who enjoys improving processes, learning new technology and finding better ways to work

Why Macquarie?

At Macquarie Telecom, you’ll be part of an ASX-listed Australian technology business where you can make a genuine impact.

You’ll have the opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, technology and commercial strategy, while building capability in AI and automation that will shape the future of how commercial teams operate.

If you’re looking for a role where you can go beyond the numbers, influence decisions and grow into a broader commercial career, this could be the opportunity for you.
