About the role
Perigus Energy is seeking a Commercial Analyst to support the commercial analysis and optimisation of onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects across Ireland and the UK.

Working across a development pipeline, you will support project business cases through the project lifecycle, analyse commercial options and prepare the analysis underpinning investment decisions.

You will work alongside experienced commercial colleagues and with teams across development, technical, procurement, finance and power trading. You will maintain project models, gather and check inputs and prepare clear, accurate analysis to support project business cases and investment decisions.

The role provides an opportunity to develop financial modelling, electricity market knowledge and commercial judgement.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • Updating and maintaining project financial models gathering, checking and reconciling inputs from development, technical, procurement, finance and power trading teams.

  • Maintaining clear records of project assumptions, including their sources, changes and outstanding inputs.

  • Analysing project revenues, costs and returns, running sensitivities and identifying risks, opportunities or assumptions requiring further review

  • Supporting the assessment of routes to market, power purchase agreements and auction participation, including analysis of bid economics.

  • Supporting commercial analysis for auction participation, including the preparation of bid economics and sensitivities.

  • Preparing clear charts, presentations and supporting analysis for investment cases presented to senior management and shareholders.

  • Developing your ability to explain findings and contribute to project discussions, with support from senior colleagues.

To succeed in the role:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, supported by a relevant qualification or equivalent practical experience.

  • Good Excel skills and a foundation in financial modelling, whether gained through study, placements or employment.

  • An understanding of basic electricity market concepts and a clear interest in developing expertise in renewable energy.

  • Close attention to detail and a structured approach to checking your work and maintaining clear supporting records

  • The ability to recognise incomplete or inconsistent inputs, ask appropriate questions and seek guidance where required.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver clear, accurate work within agreed timelines.

  • The ability to work effectively with colleagues from different disciplines and manage competing deadlines.

  • Clear communication skills, curiosity and a willingness to take increasing responsibility.

  • Previous experience in renewable energy, financial analysis or electricity markets would be useful but is not essential. You do not need prior experience across all three technologies or both markets.

The opportunity

You will develop through practical work on live projects, guidance from experienced colleagues and exposure to investment decisions. As your capabilities grow, you will take greater ownership of project analysis and commercial work, building a foundation for progression within the commercial team.
